The tool is great, works well and comes with router bits that costs a lot of money when purchased individually. A couple of items for new users: 1. Find video tutorial before attempting to use this tool. It is not intuitive and it is not easy to use without training. 2. Before you plug this tool to the wall, make sure it is OFF. My was not and caused damages on my work piece. 3. Hold it steadily with two hands or it will flip and can cause serious injuries. 4. Practice, Practice, Practice. I was very skeptical about ordering, but took a chance. I am a former cabinet maker and spent years building yachts for Sea Ray Boats. For the money I spent I thought that as long as I could get a project out of it I would break even if it blew up after that. But I am surprised to say that it worked just fine. It routed just as good as a $400 Makita. And nothing has yet to break. I will say the circle jig is incredibly underwhelming. I had to make a new jig to complete my project and while the bits are cheap, they worked. For $40 to my house it was a steal. ... show more

This router is incredibly dangerous. The edge guide is of very cheap quality and will not do much to stabilize the router while performing a run, so it wobbles all over the place. On just the second use, one of the cheap bits overheated, expanded, and broke the collet, and I can no longer get it out. I understand that this can happen as a result of user error, but I was doing very basic trimming of a very small section of very soft lumber, and it happened on just my second use (first use of that particular bit). The controls are all very flimsy. They tried to mimic the appearance of the height adjustment wheel on higher-end routers, but it's very loose and you have to screw it in and out between uses, making the ridges purely cosmetic. The way the edge guide fits into the router is comical. The power switch is the worst offender. It's so easy to accidentally flip that I'm legitimately scared to be around this thing. I have only used it with an extension cable so far so that I can easily unplug it immediately after use just to avoid any accidents. I have a 2-year-old at home, and I know shop safety is extremely important in any household with children, but this tool takes it to a whole different level. I would not recommend anyone with children have this thing anywhere near their homes, and if you do, keep it locked in a high place, because this is the easiest tool in the world to accidentally turn on, and the potential for serious injury is extremely high. Also, not for nothing, but the way the router bits are packaged seems intentionally as annoying as possible. Even most of the other cheap off-brand routers with bits have them in some sort of cheap case/organizer. These are packaged individually in really tight plastic zip baggies, which are then placed in these really flimsy individual plastic containers. Not only is this an insane amount of plastic waste for the planet, but it ensures that your projects will take 10x as long because of all the fiddling with bits (assuming the router survives through an entire project, which is a big if). It's very telling that the product listing was removed just days after I purchased it, and my order history now directs me to a plunge router model from the same brand. I suspect they are trying to cover up this disaster of a product by merging product pages or something. ... show more
