Stuff does get stuck in the mat. But you do have to keep it clean. It is nice so your sink doesn’t get scratched up by pots and pans. This is the reason I purchased it.

I just remodeled my kitchen and had a new, super large, farmhouse sink installed. I though I wouldn't be able to find a mat for it, but I did with this one. It fits great, and I also had the option of getting the drain hole in the back, just like my sink. I said it's heat resistant because I inadvertently set a very hot pot on it and it was ok. I don't think it's meant to be used as a trivet, though. If you happen to pour some hot liquid on it, it won't melt or immediately warp, but don't submerge it in hot liquid for a long time. ... show more

This is a great mat to protect our new stainless steel farmers style sink . Wish it was a little bigger as it does not cover the whole sink that well . It is about 2” short at top and bottom and about an inch shorter on the sides . Still looking for a larger version of this . It is well made , allows food particles to flow under it to disposal and prevents pots and dishes from scratching the sink . Highly recommend. Just measure carefully before ordering. The issue with this mat is that the back side catches all the dirt and gets super grimy. It’s hard to clean it off. I will end up having to toss it. It’s too bad.
