  • Loud and punchy, but maybe not the most comfortable or sonically refined.
Color: Black
Since I live in an apartment, I use over ear Bluetooth noise canceling headphones to watch TV or listen to music on a daily basis. I have a Sony 1000-XM2 that I love and an MPow M5 that while wasn’t anywhere near the Sony for noise canceling, had great sound quality, great range and was a steal at $30. The MPow M5 finally started to physically break after 4+ years of years of near daily use, so I purchased these to replace them. I selected theses because they were the among the highest rated over ear noise canceling blue tooth headphones under $50. (I purchased mine on a special / deal from Amazon.) I received my headphones in about a week. The box contained the headphones, and cables. There was no case or bag. The build quality of the headset feels good, but not premium. These set is a mix of shined plastic, metal hinges with some chromed plastics. On off and ANC is controlled with a sliding switch while volume and pairing are controlled with plate that acts like three push-buttons. Sound quality is good. Those 40mm driveRs give the bass some punch, but it comes at the expense of the kids and highs. Neither of which are as defined as either my Sony or even MPow. These are, however, quite loud if you want them to be. That volume doesn’t come at the expense of diminished sound quality. Still, overall, on a scale of 0 to 100, if the Sony’s are a 100, the MPow H5 would be a 95 and I’d give the E7 an 80. However, if you like bass and/ or volume, you might prefer the sonic profile of the E7. Noise canceling is at least reasonably good. Low frequency noise melts away, but, mid-to-high frequencies can still be heard. This time I’d rank the SE8 better than the MPow H5, but nowhere near the Sony’s. I think this is what you should expect as this price point. Range is great. I can go anywhere in my apartment or even well outside with no loss of sound quality. Again, at this price point, I think this is expectedly good. The headphones have a “C” profile that sits a bit off the side of my head. I have a small head, and these even camp tight for me. I am guessing this is intentional to limit sound leakage, but honestly, I couldn’t stand the pressure around my ears for more than 15 minutes. So despite ample padding on the headband and big comfortable protein pads, I dint find these super comfortable. ... show more

  • Very good
Color: Black
I bought these because there's construction going on in the apartment above me and I needed noise cancelling, plus I wanted bluetooth so I could listen to music and watch TV without disturbing anyone. So far, the noise reduction is quite good. I didn't want complete noise cancellation (haven't tried the setting yet), but this muffles the construction noise quite well. And I'm pretty sensitive, so if I can tolerate it, it's good. And if I watch TV or listen to music, I rarely hear much intrusive noise at all. The bluetooth connection has worked very well so far, no complaints. I love the freedom of not having to hold my phone while talking. Drawbacks: I haven't been able to figure out how to make the microphone work, so I haven't been able to use it on phone calls. Zoom is ok, I can cable the headphones to my computer. But I can't walk around and talk. Fit-wise, I'd love just a bit more padding on the headpiece; I'm still trying to get the right fit so that the headpiece doesn't just lie on my head (again, sensitivity). And I have large ears, so I wish the ear pieces were a tad larger. They're well-padded, I just need a little bit more room. I bought these because my old Skullcandy 'phones disintegrated after many years of use, and that brand is more $ than I can afford right now. For the price point, assuming these continue to work, they're good. I'm not an audiophile, so I can't comment on all the sound-quality highs and lows. They sound good to me, clear with good bass that's not overpowering. That's all I can say about it. BTW the instruction booklet is OK; not as tiny type as some, but I wish there were more instructions about bluetooth switching and using the microphone. I can't find anything online that explains better. Which is really a shame. ... show more

  • Noise cancelling is mediocre at best, but decent quality bluetooth headphones.
Color: Black
If you just want bluetooth headphones with decent sound quality without breaking $50, these are great. Not as good as a pair of studio headphones or anything of course, but the quality is solid, they come with a lifetime warranty, the battery life is shockingly long (seriously listened to music and watched youtube with them for 2 days straight (4-8 hours a day) without charging them and they still have some juice according to my computer. Borderline perfect middle-class headphones. I didn't buy these for the noise cancelling features, I just wanted a good backup pair of bluetooth headphones for when I need to be untethered from my computer or just doing chores around the house (earbuds just start to bug me after too long, and wireless ones are too easy to lose). That being said: The noise cancelling on these sucks. It took me a while to figure out what exactly they even did when the noise cancelling was active, but what it's doing is basically feeding an inverse soundwave in mono of whatever it picks up on the tiny microphone array. So it will simply muffle the sound of whatever you are listening to, kill the bass and treble response, all while not actually blocking sound because the cups and pads just aren't thick enough to block most noise. Talking is actually more annoying with the NC on than with it off, and I can still hear any background noise (keyboard clicks, taps, various normal office or home sounds if you don't live alone). Thankfully, I didn't buy them for noise cancelling so I'm not disappointed there, but I feel it bares mentioning. ... show more

  • It does what i wanted but the audio isn’t the best
Color: Black
I love the noise cancelling on it so far, it’s not complete silence but it’s close enough to it that i don’t get overstimulated as much anymore. the audio quality and volume of it isn’t the best and kinda leaves me wanting but i also would connect my brain to a speaker so the music consume my bearing if i could so i can’t complain. i got it for the noise cancelling feature so that i can do my daily tasks and go places without hearing anything i don’t want to. i.e people talking, noisy cars and babies and kids crying etc. overall i’m happy with them even if i wish they were louder ... show more
