We ordered a similar rug previously though an Amazon reseller in a different color, the padding was so thick and comfortable we were amazed a rug could be so comfortable to stand on. This one was almost nonexistent in comparison. Also I have no idea how to vacuum this one.     • Impossible to clean

This rug was nice and soft and fluffy at first, but if you really use it (like walk a lot or sit and play on it as my children did), it accumulates a lot of small dirt particles in between of its fibers. Fiber strands themselves became quite messy and tangled. I tried shaking and gentle vacuuming as recommended in the instructions, and it doesn't help much. When I hand washed it for the first time, I saw how dirty it really was. After washing and drying on a rack, the top and bottom layers of the rug became a little different in size and separated from one another, also sticky dots on the bottom stopped working at all and the rug began to move freely on the hard floor. I had nothing to loose, so I machine washed it on the hand wash cycle next time. The only thing what became worse it that the inside cushion layer was probably destroyed as I found its particles on the dryer filter. Otherwise there was not much difference from hand wash. Rug is great for the price, especially given it's size (we bought an 8 x 10). Only reason I don't give five stars is that the rug could have a bit better non-slip backing on it, as well as it is difficult to vacuum. That being said, the softness is incredible and covers a large area quite well. The cats love it and have claimed it as their own, as well as the kids. We were a bit nervous when the rug arrived as it was in a pretty small box and vacuum sealed, and I'd seen pictures in other reviews of some of the rugs with fold lines all in it and statements that the wrinkles wouldn't come out, but ours was perfect after we unfolded and flattened it out. All in all, very impressed with the rug and we are actually buying two more for other rooms in the house. ... show more
