  • Overall, a good buy
Color: Green Abstract
I bought this chair for a nook in my bedroom just as that catch-all spot for clothes and something to sit on when you're getting your socks on. The bad: 1. One of the screw tracts fell into the frame during assembly and I had to cut into the chair innards to replace it. Worked out fine in the end since the cut part is completely covered in the assembled product. 2. The chair is minimally padded so not super comfortable to sit on for longer periods of time. However, I'm not using it for this purpose so it works for me. 3. It is quite low and small, which is clearly marked in the description and comes up on other reviews. You can see my photos next too a standard sized armchair and dining chair for comparison. This actually makes putting on those aforementioned socks a little easier since your footsies are closer :) The good: 1. The colors are amazingly vibrant and the chair is quite beautiful. It fits perfectly with my decor. 2. Overall assembly was quite quick and easy, even with my little hiccup. 3. For the price, it's a steal. ... show more

  • Fast shipping!
Color: Blue Medallion
I ordered 2 of these chairs and I got them quickly. I actually received these chairs before other orders I put in beforehand. They came in a large box and putting together wasn't difficult. I had to attach the back to the seated part of the chair and legs. They give you the allen wrench and bolts which are located under the seated part of the chair. You just have to pull the black cover over which stays in place with the velcro. Chairs are sturdy. ... show more

  • Looks great, pain to assemble and it's a little wobbly
Color: Blue Medallion
This chair looks great but it is a real pain to assemble with poorly written instructions (which leg is which). Because of the way it's assembled there isn't a way to fasten everything and then tighten it up later (to prevent wobbling from different leg tightness). The chair is for a guest room that's seldom used so I decided to stick a few felt dots on the feet (you should do this too, simply because its just bare wood at the bottom of the legs) which almost remedied the wobbling but if you plan on using this daily on tile or hardwood I would just prepare yourself to have to take it apart a few times to get it level. The chair pieces feel well made and it is comfortable. I go it for $65 I think so I'm not really complaining, it looks nice and that's really the main reason I bought it, BUT they could definitely improve the assembly process. ... show more

  • Crap
Color: Blue Medallion
Piece of crap. I ordered two. I placed them in a sitting room after assembling. The first time we sat on them a month later, we realized you could feel the wooden frame in one and the other you felt cushioning. Too late to return on Amazon so I contacted Ashley customer service. Waste of 4 month! It was well under a year they refused to warranty product. They wouldn’t refund or exchange it. ... show more

  • Nice chair for the price, but hard to assemble--needs adjustment
Color: Cream Pinstripe
The chair arrived yesterday and looks nice enough when assembled--just as in the picture on the website. Have no experience as to wear or sturdiness, so I'm basing the review on initial observations. The problem is that the assembly process turned out to be difficult. Theoretically this involved putting in 12 bolts though pre-drilled holes (2 for each leg) and four more to connect the back to the seat, using a provided Alan wrench. In practice it was difficult. Aligning the holes in the legs and back with the metal sleeves where you could screw in the bolts was a little tricky, but manageable. But then screwing down the bolts was time-consuming and tedious, because most of the holes were close to a barrier, so you kept having to remove and re-set the Alan wrench every half turn or so, and there were about 20 turns per bolt. A ratchet wrench was really needed and it would have saved a lot of time if they had included one of those. But that was only the beginning. The instructions say that you shouldn't screw down the bolts for the legs completely until the chair is assembled and you can set it on the floor and adjust the height of the legs so that the chair its level on the ground. This makes sense, except for two things: First, the legs have virtually no play since the bolts holding them are going through a hole, so it's impossible to move them up or down more than 1/8", if that. But, second, and worse, you can't screw down the back legs at all after the chair is assembled because they are part of the back assembly, and once you screw the back to the seat, you can't reach the bolts to tighten them. So you pretty much have to batten down the back legs before you assemble the chair, which is what I did. When I got done and put the chair on the ground, it looked like the front left leg was about half an inch short. I tried adjusting it as much as I could, but there was very little play. Do as I will, either the left front leg was too short or the front right leg was too long. I worked on it for a couple of hours and what I finally had to do is to take off the front right leg and drill out the holes to make them into a slot, so that leg could move up and down. This worked, and it had the added benefit that the chair seat now rested on the shoulder provided by the leg, whereas previously there was a gap. However, the left leg still has a gap. It's hard to explain this, so I'm including pictures. The one without the gap is the one I adjusted. Prior to my adjustment, it had a gap even bigger than you see on the other one. This is not an expensive chair so I can't complain too much about the fact that everything isn't flush. But they really could improve the product if they actually allowed some play in the legs so they could be adjusted up or down for levelling--of if they cut them more precisely so this wouldn't be necessary. A ratchet wrench--even a very cheap one--would also be very helpful. ... show more

  • Defective
Color: White Sunburst
I wanted to love this chair. It came 5 days earlier than stated. However it was a pain. I spent more time then I want to admit on trying to screw the bolts in. It wasn't until I was about ready to throw the chair out the door that I realized two of the holes had staples inside, preventing the bolt to thread. I also realized, after so much frustration, that a third bolt was defective, the thread being extremely thick at the end compared to the rest of the bolt. It can't be sat on, so therefore useless. I'm disappointed. ... show more

  • Cute chair! It’s a real space saver!
Color: Light Blue
The directions were a bit unclear as to which length of bolt went in which hole. I used my brain to decide the appropriate bolt-to-hole ratio. So far, so good, as the chair has yet to collapse upon being sat on. Although, it does not get sat upon often. It’s a cute little chair that has proven to be a fine replacement for the husband’s dirty, stinky old recliner that took up twice as much space in the room. The only problem is that he now sits on the couch with me, which has proven to be most annoying due to his chain smoking and mass alcohol consumption. But the chair is not to blame for that. ... show more
