This exceeded my expectations. The packaging was excellent and there was not a scratch on it. The finish is as pictured and the hardware is not flimsy at all. The lid opens and closes smoothly and the chest is very sturdy. I will have this a long time.

This trunk shows very well in my living room. I use it to store extra blankets and pillows💁♀️. I ordered a 2nd trunk because I love the original so much! I may love this one as well💁♀️The delivery man was so kind as to bring it in the house for me😊 However I must wait for my nephew to help me get it out of the box. I am 70, not helpless but it’s difficult. The problem is the box SMELLS! It smells like it’s been sitting in a newly fertilized garden🥺 it is very stinky in here! I hope my nephew comes soon to remove this box! I hope it’s just the box and the trunk does not smell this bad🤦♀️ ... show more

This is fine for the price. My good for nothing brother-in-law broke the marble top of my beautiful coffee table. (Yes, he broke a slab of marble.) It was an antique and cost an arm and a leg to replace so I chose this because it can store blankets and pillows directly next to the couch. It's not an incredible piece of furniture. The lid is a little off and the finish looks a bit glossy and cheap but it's going to serve its purpose and it does seem sturdy. There was no assembly. The color is as pictured. The size is as described. I bought some wooden trays to sit on top to keep it from getting ruined with coffee cups and soda cans and to discourage people from resting their feet on it because I do think this is built well enough to last a long time and I'd like to keep it as nice as possible. All in all, I feel it was a good purchase. It's nice enough to want to take good care of it but not so perfect that if freakin Zak demolishes this one too, I'm not shedding any tears. ... show more

I really liked the looks of this storage trunk. I’ve been watching for the price to go down and I bought it. After getting it into my house, unpacking the trunk from the box, I noticed a big piece of wood sticking out on the right side of the lid. Unfortunately, it needs to go back. I’m so disappointed. Follow-up: I did order another trunk and was able to keep this one. It looks very nice in my dining room next to my hutch. Perfect match! I purchase from Amazon all the time. I only write reviews if it’s really good or really bad. I bought this trunk two years ago and loved it. Every two weeks or so I would notice sawdust on my carpet at one of the corners of the trunk. It remained a mystery to us until last week. This time when we took a closer look, we saw hundreds of tiny pinholes on the lower corners of the trunk. Then we saw a little bug come out. After researching, we found out they are powder dust beetles. My trunk was infested with them. And after further research, apparently Ashley furniture has this issue with their furniture quite often. I’ll let you read how to get rid of them, but it’s not an easy feat. Needless to say, I removed the trunk and will not buy anything else from Ashley furniture. ... show more
