  • The glass in this lens is comparable to the leaders in the field
Style: Canon EF Pattern: Single Item
I use the lens for wildlife photography, does a great job in all areas i.e. sharpness and autofocus, also great value for the cost. The weight of the lene is 2.5 kg. Not light but I handhold most of the time, and was able to adjust. I'm also female, I believe for a male it's non-problematic!

  • Sharp, Sharp, Sharp!
Style: Canon EF Pattern: Single Item
Both sample shots were taken at 600mm (no action shots due to privacy concerns; however, they were very sharp as well). The lens produces a nice bokeh (quality of out-of-focus blur) I used this lens (the Canon version, model ...54; the Nikon version is ...55) with a Metabones adapter connected to a Sony A7RIII. The AF worked intermittently--which is not the fault of either the lens or the camera; no one promised that this kludge would work--so my focus is primarily on the image quality. When the AF worked, it worked fast and accurately (AF would stop working, which required turning the camera off then on to regain AF). I had very few misses, and most of the shots were sharp. I tested its IQ against my Nikon 200-500mm--I have a very sharp version of that lens. I believe the AF is faster than the Nikon but did not directly compare the two. I shot a "Zombie Run", mostly action shots, and took over 2000 pictures. Images were sharp and well saturated (I really like the colors) at every focal length. At 600mm, there was noticeably more detail with the Sigma. I could not say the same when I tested the Sigma 150-600mm Sport against the Nikon. At normal size, you probably wouldn't notice the difference, but the additional magnification would be invaluable if you need to crop substantially. The downside is that the Sigma is bigger and heavier than the Nikon, which is a big and heavy lens in its own right. The Sigma is fatiguing if you need to hold it in shooting position for long (many will prefer to use the lens with a tripod/monopod). However, it is smaller than the Sigma 150-600mm Sport and balances better. Overall, this lens is a tremendous accomplishment by Sigma. If Sigma doesn't produce a version in Sony E-mount, I am considering buying it in Nikon mount and getting rid of my Nikon 200-500mm. The new Sigma is just that good. In sum, I do not recommend using the new Sigma "Bigma" with an adapter for Sony E-mount. However, for Canon and Nikon, the Bigma is undoubtedly the best consumer-grade long zoom produced to date. ... show more

  • Very Happy
Style: Canon EF Pattern: Single Item
I am very pleased with the performance of this lens. This 60 to 600 mm sport lens outperforms to my 150 to 600 mm contemporary lens. I am so pleased with the seller. (1) This lens is so clean and I cannot tell it is actually a used lens. (2) And this lens arrived to my house so fast. I also can't believe it was ship from Tokyo Japan to Richmond California 3-day faster than local shipping. ... show more

  • Awesome lens for the price
Style: Canon EF Pattern: Single Item
I am an amateur photographer and really only photograph for my own pleasure. Since I have been using this lens I have captured some amazing wildlife pictures. It does great for birding and distance pictures. I have no regrets and it is definitely my favorite lens for distance and bird photography!

  • LOVE
Style: Canon EF Pattern: Single Item
I am a Portrait Photographer as well as a Fine Art Photographer. I am using this lens for everything! It is crisp as a bell from 60 to 600 and while it is heavy, I can hand hold it for wildlife and still get a very sharp photo. I am thrilled with it. I use it on my Canon 5D Mark 1V and could not be happier. ... show more

  • Great lens but heavy and unweildy
Style: Canon EF Pattern: Single Item
Too heavy. Hard to handle unless you lift weights. Impossible to handhold at 600mm, However, excellent image quality.

  • Not effective at 400mm or longer.
Style: Canon EF Pattern: Single Item
Action and still shots not sharp after 400mm. Auto focus slow as well. Sometimes have to click button twice to get in focus. Auto focus on herons or egrets within 50 feet of lens was not working. Very disappointed. Not impressed with Sigma Customer service either. Thought maybe lens was a lemon; wanted to try a new one. They wasn’t an option. They want my lens and camera shipped to NY at my expense including insurance. I have purchased two Sigma lenses prior. Was happy. Didn’t think twice about buying this one. I’ll be sticking with Canon lenses. I’m a professional photographer and this experience has been very disappointing. ... show more
