    • Easy to use, hard to mess up!
I liked the quality of this unit, also the videos have helped out tremendously, but I am still trying to figure out which of the attachments and or compounds they sell, will best work on my boat for it's present condition. The only problem I have found so far is, the on/off switch can be easily bumped by the hand while using it, which can become a nuisance. I bought a kit which was limited and I was tackling a pretty serious problem. I have now purchased a few other items in order to tackle things like the diamond cut deck of the boat. Hopefully it will all come together and finally cleaning a waxed surface will no longer be a dreaded job. So far the areas I have polished / waxed have come clean after a fishing trip, incredibly easy. I personally do recommend this unit 100%, to anyone that has never dealt with a sander/ polisher.     • Fantastic Tool!
Recently, I was in the market for a compounding/polisher tool to detail and restore my 33 year old, 17' O'Day DaySailor II sailboat. I went to Youtube to help me determine the best tools to get the job done. I seriously considered the Makita polishing tool because it is so highly recommended by other professionals. However, I didn't want to "burn" the paint on my fiberglass sailboat by not knowing how to properly utilize the power of this type of buffer. Then I came across Shurhold's 3101 dual action polisher. It has a random orbit motion to the buffing pad (no paint burn to worry about), and Shurhold also offers all of the additional attachments I would need to finish the job properly. I have used The Shurhold Dual Action Polisher/Buffer now for maybe 16 hours of work time on my boat. Following their directions using Buff Magic compound and polish, the final results are nothing short of miraculous! Buff Magic compound/cleaner really exceeded my expectations and the actual Shurhold polisher/buffer is a real workhorse. Very well engineered, powerful and built to last. This is really one of the best investments I have ever made which will extend my enjoyment of sailing and I look forward to showing up (and showing off) my DaySailor at the boat launch.     • This is a great and easy to use product...
This combo of Shurhold polish and this orbital polisher is a great product. I polished my 18 ft Bayliner in about 2 hours and had absolutely the best results possible. This polish brings out the deep shine, repels water now for several months of boat use. Salt water just beads off of the polish... This polish worked so good on my boat that I also polished all 3 of my cars and all with 1 bottle. I live in Florida and the weather, salt and sand is hard on your cars paint but this product is really working well and standing up to the weather conditions. I recommend this product 100% and have replaced all my other polish and waxes with Shurhold . ... show more

I used this to buff and polish the hull of my 23ft center console. Easy to use and control. Finish came out looking great. I read the complaints about the power switch being difficult to shut off. Well not in my opinion. Yes it won’t slide forward because it is designed to not shut off if you bump it. So.. it’s always push down and slide action. I used this product to clean, polish and seal non-skid decking (raised diamond pattern) on a boat. Excellent tool to do a job that no detailer says can be done.
