  • Great for snowboarding
Size: Small
I bought 6 different brands of padded shorts off of Amazon for my 13 year old daughter to pick from. She liked this brand the best for learning how to snowboard's. These padded shorts are great for the tailbone area..They have average padding along the legs and are easy to move and bend in she said. My daughter said they really have helped her with falling when she’s snowboarding. We kept this brand and returned all the rest.. I felt this brand was a good quality and value for your money.. ... show more

  • Great quality!
Size: Large
Very well made. This has the most coverage of any pad I’ve ever worn. The pads are multi-layered to minimize impact.I tried wrestling wearing these pads and felt no pain. Your buttocks will thank you.

  • Does not restrict movement!
Size: Large
These are great! Comfortable and confident inspiring. The pads are thick and dense with good coverage. I feel good about these protecting me in a fall. Freedom of movement! Despite having large protective pads you don't notice them when wearing the shorts. And the fabric is so stretchy that I can run, jump, etc without feeling restricted. This is what really sets these shorts apart. I read one review that said because the butt pad is so thick it will cause more injury. I considered this when I tried them on, but I think that is absurd. The large triangle pad on your tailbone is wide enough to distribute the impact across your glutes, and the pads next to it are close enough to take the impact as well. You can also add or remove pads from the rear to increase or decrease the thickness. This section comes with a standard thick pad and a denser orange pad pre-installed with an extra thicker pad included in the package as an option. Quality control issues. I deducted 1 star because the first pair I got was missing a pad from one of the pockets. Amazon handled the return fast, but it was still an inconvenience and annoyance. ... show more

  • Does not protect tailbone
Size: Large
This product is unsafe and i would not recommend to anyone, even strongly advise against it. It localizes the pressure of the fall directly on your tailbone with the raised pad in the middle of the garment and inadequate padding in the gluteal region. You are more likely to break your tailbone wearing this product than you would be without. It fits and looks nice, but this is a dangerous product. All of the free vine reviews have obviously not taken a fall in these shorts ... show more

  • Out of three different pairs/brands I own, this one is best.
Size: Large
First off, I read reviews, I buy primarily from reading multiple reviews at various stars and weigh the differences. Out of the two 1 star reviews this product received, the one regarding this being a "dangerous product" I have to completely disagree with as SHINYPRO offers options for the tail bone cushioning. There are two different thicknesses of foam padding, as well as the denser rubberized pad. All three can be stacked or removed for no tailbone padding. Yes, I am a vine member and received this product for free to review; BUT, over the last couple years, I already own and paid for two other pairs of padded shorts. I would rate this SHINYPRO pair better than the others. I've worn these on the slopes snowboarding twice so far with one spill. What I like: -Versatility and padding options -Slimmer design, less bulky -Fit/freedom of movement -Breathable For reference- I am a slim athletic 6'2", 190 lbs with thin legs. I bought a large and it fit fine. Has some room if you have a larger bottom and waistline. NOTE: No product can completely protect the user from getting hurt during a fall- NONE. There are just too many factors (eg: age, bone density, anatomy, resistance to injury, speed and velocity of impact etc etc etc). I have a medical background and am a licensed paramedic and have seen/Tx MANY ortho injuries. High speed blunt force trauma to the coccyx region may be somewhat absorbed by the cushioning but padding will not protect you from torsional, whiplash, and other injuries taking a spill on a hill. Such shorts are meant to reduce the aches and bruises that come with taking a simple spill. ... show more

  • Go Hard With These
Size: Large
I'll start off by saying I'm an aggressive rollerblader, so I use these depending on the setting and session. I own quite a few of these from different brands and types, so when I received these I was interested because of its design. The pads remind me of some other crash pads, horizontally angled pads rather than vertical, with a separate, harder pad, for the tailbone area. The fit itself is easily the best fit I have of any crash pad I own. The pads work well, and the coverage is well good, but, you will still find a gap eventually and will end up banging something in between the pads, it's inevitable, but these do well to displace the hit because the pads are on a curve. Meaning, eventually you're going to hit part of a pole, ramp, whatever between the pads, but because of the way the pads are, most of the blow should be absorbed by a piece of pad, because of how their set on an angle. What really sets this apart is the tailbone pad. This thing was a game changer for me. I have hit my tailbone on rails many, many times. It never stops hurting, and it never hurts any less. So when I rammed my tailbone into a pole with these on and bounced off the thing with barely any sensation of an impact, I was stoked. It happened repeatedly and I walked away lacing the trick and doing so without a sore tailbone. I have been using these as my main set for the past few months and these are easily my favorite ones. A big aspect of crash pads that most don't talk about is how the tailbone pad is usually the pad that wears down the most, and most of the time it isn't because of constant falls, but just sitting down with the pads on. I've had trash pads where after two or three days, the tailbone pad pretty much pancaked out and hitting my tailbone felt like it had nothing protecting it. This tailbone pad is hard, so when I sit my butt down it doesn't compress, so when i actually fall on the pad it continues to do what it's meant to do. I talk about, in some of my other reviews, other products that are game changers for me when I use them. This is one of those as well. I love these pads. I will buy more of these. I do recommend these, highly!! ... show more
