This camera grip for the iPhone is great. The magnet is strong and holds a Mag safe iPhone securely. Also, since leaving your phone open while taking photos uses the battery quickly, the SnapGrip contains a batter which charges the iPhone while it is being used. I ordered this for my iPhone 14 Pro. I have to say the magnet is pretty strong, I've read reviews where people says its not but I have tried to shake it free and only once did that happen. So safe to say the magnet will hold your phone securely. I really like how easily it makes taking photos or videos with your smart phone. Not only in terms of holding the photo but being able to compose and take the photo/video. It truly does make it feel like you're holding a DSLR. The ShiftCam SnapGrip bluetooth's to your phone so you can use the button to take photos. I did find that sometimes it would lose connectivity like a lot of bluetooth device can and do, but overall it's not enough of a deterrent to not want to keep using it or for you not to buy it. Just remember, you have to pair it with your smartphone in order for the bluetooth feature to work. You pretty much have to do this every time you connect your SnapGrip to your smart phone and turn both of them on. The SnapGrip does recharge your phone while you're taking photos with it. I found that when you plug it in to charge it up it takes the usual amount of time a device like this does to recharge. A light does blink to let you know it is charging. They include a magnetic mount with adhesive on it so you can put it on your smart phone or smart phone cover, while I stupidly put my on my iPhone 14 Pro phone cover I did not need to do that because it already has the magnet feature built into it. But if your phone does not this will help you attach the SnapGrig to that phone. They say you can order more of them but I did not find a place to do that. Perhaps I just wasn't looking in the right place. My biggest gripe is I take a LOT of photos with my phone attached to a cell phone mount usually mounted to a tripod or a ball head mounted on a large magnet it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to mount your phone with the ShiftCam SnapGrip on to that cell phone mount. Hoping the manufacturer of this really good product will design and sell a cell phone mount/clamp large enough to use with your SnapGrip attached to your smart phone. I realize not that many photographers take photos in this manner but the ones who do would really appreciate and buy a cell phone mount/clamp that enabled you to clip your smart phone with the Shift Cam SnapGrip attached to the smartphone. Right now the way it is designed its too wide to be able to safely put your smart phone on to it. While, some say the SnapGrip is slightly overpriced, I did not feel that way because I like using it so much. I adhere to the philosophy that if you feel something is made well and you use it lot then it is not overpriced. I purchased this to shoot social media photography on location at a film shoot that lasted about 10 hours daily for 6 days. In the past, my iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro Max, so not an old phone) needed to be recharged mid-day and this seemed like a good option to avoid that, and had the added benefit of a more convenient grip and shutter button. Here are my thoughts- The Battery ☹︎ The battery did not have enough charging capacity. It helped a little, but I still had to recharge the phone before the shooting day ended. I have used other battery backs in the past that have been much more effective, eliminating the need for a mid-day recharge. The Magnetic Connector ☺︎ I wasn't sure if this would be sturdy enough to stay connected, but it definitely was. It stayed connected through rotation, being held sideways, etc. For me it functioned very well. The Grip ☺︎ I really appreciated the grip- it made it easier to hold the phone and get shots from different positions. This was the best thing about the SnapGrip. The Shutter Button ☹︎ ☹︎ ☹︎ Ugh- I had very high hopes for this (it could have been SO great) but it ended up being unusable for me. It was sticky, so it either had to be pressed very hard, or be pressed multiple times (3 or 4) to get it to work. I was taking action shots of one-off demonstrations where I needed to photograph each step, so this alone made the shutter button virtually unusable. There was also a slight lag between the button press and the actual photo- again, this can't work for action shots. And finally, this is nit-picky but the button made a small sound when pressed and for my situation that was problematic. It was by no means loud, but was audible in the room, and since I happened to be in a situation where silence is essential, that didn't work. I will say though, that I liked the grip enough that I kept using the SnapGrip throughout the 6 day shoot since I already had it. But was it worth the money for the grip alone?
