I cannot tell you how many vinyl pool table covers I have purchased and that then would tear. I have a pool table that is about 100 years old that I wanted to protect, but I did not want to spend a lot. I wanted something decent around $30. I watched some reviews and this Shieldo was never mentioned. I narrowed my search to the ones that were recommended. They were all available at Amazon. I read the reviews and there were quite a few negative comments, with a lot commenting on the smell. After looking at way too many, I stumbled across this one. There was one negative comment, something about the fit, but all the rest very positive. It had a lower cost than the others ($29) and I ordered it. Without special shipment, I got it the very next day. Pretty cool. It fits my table almost perfect (the table is 1" longer than the cover). It looks absolutely excellent, with creases that will go away, is of absolute excellent quality, has NO negative odor, is very thick (definitely heavier material), and is just a fantastic cover for a very very reasonable price! I would not hesitate to buy another, but I suspect that that will be a long time coming! ... show more

First of all, don't do what I did! When the package arrived, the cover is folded inside-out, so you don't see the brown leatherette, but a light slate blue color. I immediately sent a "return" message to Amazon. 5 minutes later, I recognized my mistake! Needless to say, I kept the cover. I have an 8' table. It fits beautifully, covering the top and edges. I was worried about some negative reviews on the pattern on the leatherette. Although there is a mottled pattern, (and it does look somewhat giraffe-like!), the color is a beautiful dark brown, and looks like leather. Yes, of course the folds initially show (there are no "wrinkles" per se). In the first 5 days it was on the table, these began to fade and fall out. Unless you're a perfectionist (in which case, see the "ironing" solution in other posts), it is fine the way it is, and fits and hangs beautifully on the table. While not an exact fit (a little loose on all sides) I can understand why it is slightly oversized for my specific table. When shopping for a table I noticed a wide variety of length and widths on the different manufacturers and styles. These guys did a great job coming up with a best fit approach that is slightly oversized. 4 stars since I have no idea how well it holds up to water/beer or other liquids. You really didn’t think I was going to spill liquid on my brand new cover to test it on my brand new table. Looks solid, but I’ll stick with the 4 star until an accident happens. Same with durability. Looks like it is, but only time will tell. Wrinkle free? Um no. But thanks for playing. It may de-wrinkle over time, we’ll see. Still from first impressions I’d recommend this cover to anyone. My main goal is to keep my cat from destroying the felt on the table so it it does that, I’ll gladly change them all to 5 stars. Our table is in a pull barn where there is dust, our chickens roam, nature of birds and occasionally we get weather blown in. This table cover is thick, strong, physically not cheap and great quality too. We had a leak and it protected our table. The cover is easy to wipe off, stays in place even on windy days.
