This is a great temp shelter for a vehicle that will withstand the winters in the northeast. I use it to park my snow plow in in the winter and lawn tractor in the summer. One minor flaw, cover could be a little bit heavier, the first one only lasted five years, could not find a replacement cover anywhere so the first frame only is now a chicken pen. Hope they come up with just the cover available soon. ... show more

  • The frame assembly was high quality and the instructions were perfect.
Tent or cover hasn't lasted a year but being in the central valley of CA, the sun destroys most everything. I guess I'll just buy a new cover. The frame assembly was high quality and the instructions were perfect.

  • It's all about the anchoring with this unit
Not sure why this gets some bad reviews as we have it installed on our land in the mountains at 10,000 feet and it's surviving heavy snowstorms and some fairly significant wind gusts (up to 40 mph) on a regular basis. The fabric could stand to be a bit thicker for sure, but honestly for the price of the unit I think the quality is fine. I can see this lasting a couple years, but will need to replace the cover at that point. The internal structure seems very sturdy. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS Poor Quality Product, Even Worse Company
Do not buy this item. It is not as advertised. The quality is terrible. The brackets don't secure down the tarp, so it will gradually loosen the entire system that holds down the tarp(cover) which will allow the cover to violently move in mild wind which then starts to twist and bend the entire frame. IF the brackets were designed correctly it may of held. In addition the brackets are close to the floor where rain easily reaches which leads to lots of rust because the brackets scratch the frame and since they don't bite they keep moving scratching the entire surface. The paint itself is THIN. The pipes themselves are THIN. I requested a return/refund from the company and they would not honor their warranty. They kept refusing to honor the return request and have the return shipping paid by them. The return shipping I'd have to pay would of been over $130. They were mean and nasty and tried to categorize it as buyer's remorse. DO NOT TRUST this company. They don't care about their customers. They are focused on ripping you off and turning a profit by cutting LOTS of corners. ... show more

  • I thought it was quality
I bought this 10 months ago, assembled it myself in about 5 hours. I had one of their less substantial white ones from a big box store, and it lasted 2 years. This one was very impressive when I assembled it. It took a little work putting it all together, but having a battery powered impact driver with a socket head made the work fly by. The hardest part on any of these garages is the anchor system. The white one I only anchored with tie-downs and the fabric wore out quickly with windy storms [Virginia]. But this one I decided to do it right, and burred deep the included 'temporary' anchors. They suggest putting them in cement, and with the hard clay in my area, that's about what I have. Anyway, getting those anchors in took several hours [by hand]. It gets very warm in the summer since its a dark color and there is NO ventilation except at the base. I have often considered ducting the hot air at the top with a fan. The heat probably makes the fabric deteriorate quicker, but definitely makes the objects stored inside get hot. Its mostly tools, lawnmower, and stuff for the car, but an entire box of nitril gloves were stored in there and deteriorated in a few months from the heat alone. Anyway, the roll up door can be a little annoying, so I put an unused shower curtain rod into the flap at the bottom of the door. Attach a zip-tie around the center of the rod, and a "figure-9" to that. When you want it open, unzip both sides, attache the "figure-9" to a rope that you tie to a support beam. That way you can have an open door in under 2 seconds. You can close the door in 1 second. The only trick is that you can't keep tall items near the front of the garage. The problems: So far, only one issue- the fabric, which feels and looks to be very high quality, started to tare at the same place all around the structure, about head high, right on the support beam. There are pictures from another poster that show the same tares as I have. Warranty: I just submitted a warranty request since its only 10 months old [its a 1 year warranty]. I will update this if I get any response other than a replacement top cover. The sad thing is that even if they send me a free replacement tarp, I will still have to remove the old one, fill up space in a land fill, and put the new one back on. I estimate it will be 2-3 hours of work if the weather is helpful. ... show more

  • Not worth the time or money
Installation: The instructions are as bad as Ikea. I definitely thought it would be easier and most of that stems from a simplicity of parts that are poorly labeled with very slight distinctions that have an impact as you build if you don't notice. Durability: I installed this unit in Oct 2019 in Northern New England and as of Nov 2021, the tarp on the South side of the structure is failing significantly at all joint positions and thinning noticeably in non-contact areas. I really expected more. For a tarp to fail in 2 years screams of material cost-savings. The framing is built of an uncomfortable compromise of weight-savings and structural integrity. To elaborate, as the tarp is failing, I've considered replacing it with other forms of roofing material (polycarbonate or metal), but given the additional weight required, I don't believe that frame will support it successfully. To be fair, the structure has not collapsed under snow weight of 18". That's a bonus. Bottomline, it "works", but if I could go back in time, I would allocate the time and money to a permanent structure. ... show more

Garage-In-A-Box was a bit of a challenge to put together, it took us about 6 hours start to finish instead of the 2 hours suggested in the instructions but we found the instructions pretty clear. We have had it up through the fall-early winter and it has survived 50+ mile per hour winds and several snow storms. We will see how many years it lasts but so far we are very happy ... show more
