Follow-up Review Fall 2021: I wrote my first review after owning this vacuum for a year and another year has passed and this little machine is still going strong. I love this vacuum as it makes my life so much easier and is so easy to use. I use this vacuum, every 1-2 days as I have a small home, 4 dogs and a lush yard with trees, flowers and grass. The dogs bring any and everything inside and this little vacuum has been used consistently, for the past 2 years, and every 1-2 days on a regular basis. It is absolutely wonderful! I love it so much, I am taking it with us in our RV. It not only keeps a house free of grass, leaves and pollen, it keeps dust bunnies, cob webs, dog hair on furniture and dust on dressers, etc, away. I use it to vacuum dust off of lampshades and it works beautifully. I cannot say enough about this vacuum and highly recommend it to anyone needing a small vacuum that is durable (I am rough on stuff) and can handle the amount of dog hair we have in this house. I love that it is easy to store and also easy to empty. You will not regret buying this handy little vacuum. While in a vacation rental for a week, the owner left behind the exact vacuum in the maid's closet. I came home and decided to buy one for my own home. Fast forward to a year later of ownership and this vacuum has been wonderful. Because of pet hair, I vacuum our house every 1-2 days. I use to Swift our floors daily and now with this vacuum, I just use it instead. Porches and all. This vacuum has held up and does an impressive job with not only pet hair, grass and leaves being brought in, dust from the base boards, closets, cabinets, drawers, furniture tops, dusting lamps, AC vents that get dusty, dog beds, cobwebs, etc. The only place I cannot reach is under the bed, but that was an easy solution as we just lifted the bed up to vacuum under it. When needed, I rinse the detachable chamber that holds all the hair and dust and then set it out to dry. I even wash the foam filter when needed and then let it dry. I have never purchased a Shark vacuum before but after a friend's recommendation I gave it a shot. This has been the best choice I have ever made. This cleaner is light weight,so easy to use and the suction on this is amazing which is great with pet hair. Just love this vacuum and a joy to use!!

I’ve been on the hunt for a new vacuum for a while doing extensive research into affordable, quality machines. I was stuck between two Shark vacuums and I can’t speak for the other but this is the BEST! Great suction and I love the fact there is a hardwood/carpet setting, and you can adjust the suction on top of that with a dial. We moved into this rental last weekend and fully vacuumed the bedroom pictured a week ago, with my old Bissel. (Left carpet as is, right after like two passes.) This was just from doing the one bedroom a week later, we don’t own pets and this pulled up a lot of dirt and hair. I shed a lot of hair myself and I noticed hardly any wrapped around the roller which was nice. Very easy to push around on the highest suction. Not bulky or clunky to use, very slick. Pretty lightweight for carrying up the stairs, and easy to put together. The lift away was nice but will take some getting used to. The only “Con” would be that it doesn’t have a retractable cord, but that is it! 100% would buy again, ... show more

The suction is very good. Vacuumed just one room and it picked up as much hair, dust and dirt as the old LG model did in 3 rooms. Speaking of LG, all mine needed was a simple roller brush, only to find out they discontinued making it. Maybe a blessing in disguise, as the Shark self-cleaning roller brush is a great feature. Back to the Shark model: The self-cleaning roller really worked - inside the dust bin, the dust and dirt went into one chamber, and all the hair collected separately on the center cone and slid right off when I went to empty. The cord is too short, and it's placed too low on the machine, so it's a pain to move around, change directions, etc. It was constantly getting in the way. The swivel head is helpful and the lower profile gets further under some furniture than our previous LG unit could. Tried the Lift-Away on a few carpeted stairs, but will need the full power of the roller head to properly clean the stairs. The L-A feature is probably better suited for furniture. The hose clip is pretty useless. The hose disengages from the wand after a minute of usage. Not a big deal - as the hose doesn't really go anywhere once it's loose. All the other click-into-place connections seem secure. The unit is definitely lightweight - time will tell if it also proves durable? This was a sold & shipped by Amazon purchase. They lowered the "Limited Time Deal" by $20 right after I bought it. Hopefully Jeff Bezos will read this review and issue a $20 credit... ... show more

My hair is about 20-22” long. Nothing got stuck. Suction is great. Easy to move around and take apart for “lift away.” No complaints, I would buy again. Recommend for anyone and everyone with kids, plush carpets, animals or long hair.

Easy Peasy, Because this vacuum just clicks right together and can be easily emptied with another click of a button! My son has one too. He has two Maine Coon cats with long hair. Well, I was cleaning his apartment when his vacuum cleaner wasn’t sucking up anything. I took it apart and cleaned it out easily enough. Still wasn’t sucking. I figured the problem was in the hose. I disconnected it and put it back on while stretching the hose. All of a sudden there was two huge hairballs that almost filled up the collection tank up again! Emptied it out and back to working. This vacuum really is a self cleaning machine! I still used soap and water to make it like new again.
