We have a sweet 12 year old female ragdoll and adopted a 12-year-old male after losing our other female. He had not been properly socialized as a kitten, isn’t interested in play, gets aggressive if we pet him and has sent me to the ER once. Worst of all, he is a bit aggressive with our female and she’s constantly looking over her shoulder. She can’t go in any of the spaces that have been hers her whole life. She hides and we even noticed he was limiting her access to food and water. We were on the brink of rehoming him after trying for two years because now she’s getting UTIs. She’s miserable and the vet bills were getting out of hand. Our home feels too spacious for diffusers but I discovered this collar. It worked like magic within 30 minutes, maybe less. Dude has been very chill ever since. In fact, the first few days, he almost seemed stoned. We’ve even seen them lying on the bed together now. He will still get a little bitey if I pet sensitive areas, but we don’t even recognize this boy anymore. He purrs when I pet him now! He’s leaving her alone and not giving energy that scares her. She is wary, but starting to trust. I was nervous about the scent because I’m extremely sensitive to perfumes, scented candles, etc. After reading other views I feared the collar would give me serious headaches. Especially at first, I could smell it if I got close to him, but it has not bothered me at all. It mellowed out pretty quickly. This has been a complete game changer! Magic!!! I have a very angry cat. The only time he is nice is at bedtime when he snuggles into bed with us and makes biscuits. THATS IT. Petting aggression- check Unsocialized with other cats and will attempt to end them on sight- check Dislikes play- check His human guardians got 2 new kittens a few months ago in hopes of socializing and enrichment. Cue the uptick in aggression and anxiety, resulting in a kitty UTI from stress and an emergency $$$$$ vet visit. We have tried diffusers for months on end, even different formulas. Little monster dude gained a bunch of weight the first month and laid around more. It didn't do much personality wise, then he seemed unaffected since. We tried those herbal drops in the yellow bottle everyone swears by. No noticeable changes. We tried calming chews. He ate them a couple times then refused them since, even not being free fed. No difference seen. He's been on CBD oil for cats for about 3 weeks or so, has started refusing his wet food because of it this last week. Slightly more friendly, less bitey, seems to help with his movement more than anything. Plays a little more than he used to. Guys, I am not joking when I say he has been LEANING INTO petting. Not only that, but EXTENDED petting not just give him 3 scritch and snatch my hands away to avoid the angry bites. Head butts into the petting! I kid you not. He might have been body swapped by another cat, cause I don't know this guy. He's also been purring a lot when interacting with us. He used to only purr when baking biscuits at night. Who is this cat?!!? This collar was bought as yet another attempt to circumvent getting a vet appointment to prescribe him kitty meds. Last vet in 2022 told us to sedate him prior to bringing him in again. (Never touched him, and didnt resolve the reason we were there, but still charged me $$$ for the visit!) The collar smells a little, like lavender or something herbal and light. I have aversions to smells that are too strong because they give me headaches. I don't mind the collar smell at all. I can only smell it if I lean down into kitty's direct space. It's only been a few days but we took the collar off for about an hour yesterday and he was right back in jerk-cat-mode. This collar will be on permanent reorder status here. If your cat is being anxious or aggressive please try one of these Sentry calming collars for your and your furry family members' sanity and safety. If anything changes I will update my review. UPDATE its been about a month. My cats personality has not done a 180 (he still bites sometimes) but he is still leaning into petting and interacting with us for an extended time. He plays a little more than before, I attribute that maybe more to the CBD he is given. He does seem happier and more confident overall, but still my little monster. I also noticed I see his eye color more now; before the collar his eyes looked like black marbles unless he was in direct sunlight. Now they look normal and definitely un-devilish. My cat's veterinarian recommended this collar since my cat was having urinary blockage due to stress. It really helps him to stay calmer. He is also on a prescription diet for stress and I have to drug him when there are thunderstorms. I know the collar is doing its part because when the end of the month rolls around and it is time for a fresh collar, he is almost literally climbing the walls. When I put the new collar on him at the beginning of the month, he visibly calms down and sleeps more during the first few days. It smells strong at first, not an unpleasant scent, but a strong one that dissipates as the days pass. The collar does not fasten securely, so that your cat can't hang himself on it, but that does mean he can eventually remove it himself. I leave at least two inches on the end of the collar when I cut it, and I have to tighten it a bit all day long. The very first time I put one on him, he removed it immediately, but if you are patient and just keep putting it back on until the collar starts to do its work and/or the cat gets used to wearing a collar, you will see the difference in his behavior. ... show more

Had high hopes for these collars as I was desperate to try anything. Cats didn’t seem bothered by them and I personally like the smell. Unfortunately they didn’t seem very effective for my cats (territorial aggression and marking). I wanted to give them a shot but today the collar got loose and was stuck in my cat’s mouth forcing it open. So doesn’t break away as it should. Saw others with the same issue so was always watching for it. Also because it constantly gets loose if you don’t watch it daily this can happen. So for my cats it wasn’t effective and was dangerous but your mileage may vary. ... show more
