I have four small dogs. The instructions say you can cut to fit and then make a new collar with what was cut off if in fact long enough. I cut all colors to fit, I vacuumed sealed the trimmed parts to use at a later time. As of now my dogs are flea and tick free. The dogs have not been in the rain so I cannot comment on if they arewaterproof or how long they last because I have not had them but maybe a month. These collars actually stay on the dogs. My dogs are active and live in the country and most collars are lost in nowheretobefoundland. These collars stay on. I like that.

It’s almost as if this collar attracts ticks rather than repels them. Our dog has had more ticks on him than I’ve ever seen before while using any other treatment or collar. I have to do a thorough “tick pulling session” a couple of times a week where we sit with bowl of soapy water for me to drop them all into. In these sessions, I’m removing 15-30 ticks at a time. That’s not counting the onesy/twosy removals I do just in passing when I feel them on him. It’s nasty. However, in the month that he’s had the collar on, I’ve only seen a couple of fleas, so maybe it does work on fleas as other reviewers have stated. Our primary problem is ticks though, so if you’re looking for tick control, don’t bother with this collar because it’s been completely ineffective for that purpose. ... show more

I purchased this due one of my dogs loving to bring fleas and ticks in the house. I live in the Deep South and this spring has been rough for these with more rain that the last few years. Well after trying anything I purchased this in the hopes of combating the itching and to stop the fleas from Biting. The scratching has gone to about 30% of what it was. While I have began the fight with treatments on them plus the yard and inside the home; they have started to he less. What I like is the flexibility of the collars to fit the weird sized necks. What I don’t like is that the clip is difficult to get secure. I was hoping that this would eliminate them quicker but I guess it’s a war wages on. ... show more

I have a medium-sized Coonhound/Doberman mix, short hair, and this collar did not deter the fleas at all. They are flimsy, don't know about waterproof because I remove it to wash him, and just don't work. Good price, but buyer beware!
