Still waiting on my electrician (he should be here in the next 2-3 weeks), so I cannot attest to the ease of installation, but after it's been installed I will comment on that... AND I'll update this review with pictures, comparing this ceiling light to the old, ugly one-light fixture at the top of my stairwell (for the 20+ years I've lived here) that it will replace. This fixture is pretty. The glass gives it a bit of a modern feel, but as long as the colors (black primary, plus the amber tinted glass) go well I think you'll be pleased, even if you don't technically have a "modern" decor in your home. There is absolutely nothing very modern about the bathroom, bedroom, or stairway landing on the upper level of my home, but this fixture still blended-in perfectly when a friend on a ladder held it there for me to give it a good look. This new fixture will replace a small based (5 ¼ inch diameter) light fixture. This base (or "back plate") is a bit shy of 5 inches in diameter, so it will probably take some effort to make it look right in this same spot. The maximum wattage is 40, so almost any E26 LED bulb out there can be used without fear of it generating too much heat. In the low 30's, its price point seems just about right relative to comparable small light fixtures I was recently checking-out at my local lighting store. I was happy with this fixture right out of the box, and I am so looking forward to this upgrade! ... show more

    • Such a modern Feel with a touch of classy
This is an absolutely beautiful light fixture. However, by the pictures provided, I had thought the lower portion of the globe would have been a darker smoke instead of what it was. Though that was disappointing, the light still looks great. Installation was simple and straight forward as long as you are comfortable with performing these tasks. The instruction provided were straight to the point. You only have 3 connections to make and complete the mounting and you’re done. ... show more

I really like the light and the look of the light...it fits into the more modern look that's the current trend. The installation was ok: the full sized bracket always makes life easier as does the large locking nut for the glass bulb. They tried to use this little electrical connector which I cant do justice to describing but throw it out. It's one piece of plastic, molded for connectors - one end is for the light, one for the power. It requires the use of microscopic standard screwdrivers - just dont. It's going to irritate you. I always recommend getting tossing the wire nuts (also included) and getting the quick connects. It will save you time and frustration. Thats my only complaint with the unit otherwise it was an easy install and a nice unit. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have gotten 5 different light fixtures from Amazon and this is the one I liked the least. I’m not crazy about this style. It is simple and gives off a nice amount of light. I had a handyman install it and it was an easy install for him. I put a white bulb in it and I don’t like the contrast of the brown tinted glass and white bulb. I will try a different color bulb and see if it is more appealing. It does the job so there is nothing wrong with the fixture itself, I am not attracted to the style. For me it is just okay…a little to plain. ... show more

I had to replace the hallway light in my home cause the other fixture was rusted and breaking apart. So I found this one and thought it would look great and it would be the perfect size. From the pictures it looks big but it was the perfect size and it doesn't sit to low which is great. It was easy to install it it took about 20 minutes from the time it took to take the old one out and put the new one in so it was really quick. The kit even came with a little glove to prevent shocking just incase there was any electricity still going through the wires. The design is very modern and sleek, it can fit any watt bulb showed in the pictures when you order it. So you can get an idea on what type of bulb you want to use. ... show more
