This is a really nice watch. You can see the quality of workmanship and know that it’s a Seiko, so you can count on the mechanics of the watch to work for years to come. I also spoke to the sellers, Gala Watches, I’m sorry but I forgot the lady’s name, but she was so polite and helpful….wow, that seems to be a rarity these days! The only problem that I had with this watch is that it’s a little small for my wrist at 8 inches, but that’s my fault—I should have checked on that earlier. I’ve had this watch for about a month or so and every time I look at it, it makes me happy. For reals! Lol. I think that if you got it, you won’t be disappointed, just get the right size for your wrist. ... show more

It definitely deserves the "Seitona" nickname when you compare it's looks to the ultra-expensive Rolex Daytona. I prefer this SSC813 to the larger and newer SSC911 which looks much too large on my 6.75" wrist. The SSC813 is a beautiful and functional watch. The date window is a joke however and almost impossible to read under any lighting conditions. I also must admit that the original Seiko steel bracelet is a poor match and below the quality of the watch. Take a look at the Alpine silicone black/grey band. If you want to splurge, the Artem sailcloth band looks the best of all. I bought both. These replacement bands are a better match stylistically than the Seiko bracelet and are much lighter and more comfortable. ... show more

The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer is great on the wrist. I wanted a watch that wasn't one of my luxury watches that I don't have to worry about in case of theft when going on a vacation, on a cruise. The dial looks good and the watch proportions are great. I have a 7 inch wrist and I had to remove a few links in the bracelet. The only issue I have is reading the small date window. ... show more

I purchased the SBDL085 from Suzuki Japan on Amazon. First let me kudos Suzuki for a rapid 2-day delivery from Japan to the USA from order! Wow! That's better than most, if not all USA watch distributors! Kudos to the Japanese here! I've had this experience with Japanese watch distributors before on Amazon as well. Next, the SBDL085 is the Japanese model of the SSC813. Why get this one instead? For two reasons: 1. Price: SBDL085 < SSC813, way less with the current Yen to Dollar exchange rate. I myself could care less about a USA warranty with a Seiko product. 2. Where Made: SBDL085 = "MADE IN JAPAN", SSC813 = "MOVEMENT IN JAPAN", as stated on the back of the watch. Thus the SBDL085 is "more Japanese" with IMO higher quality (albeit maybe not too discernable) than its counterpart SSC813. When push comes to shove, I always will buy a product that is completely or at least "more made in Japan" whatever the case may be. The metal bracelet is not bad, although only two steps of micro adjustment. I swapped mine out for a Jack Foster Badalassi Waxy leather band (20mm). See my pics of the Seiko SBDL085. I went with the Japan model and it was significantly cheaper around $420 shipped! As stated in other reviews you don’t get the standard warranty but I’m not worried about that. The watch looks fantastic and everything works as expected. 2 day shipping from Japan is very impressive. I have a large wrist and can’t complain as I’ll use this as an everyday watch but can be dressed up as well. From the fit & finish for the price you can’t beat it. Would buy another. 9/10 I knew it was 39mm if it was 42 it would be an 11/10! The size doesn’t bother me because it’s more of a classy dress watch in my opinion. Buy it! ... show more
