It does a good job of designating a stop point before I hit the garage wall. The base is heavy enough so that it won’t move in the wind. The pole and stop sign do sway and bend but it doesn’t affect its utility.

The light comes on when car makes contact. The pole bends over and does not come back up straight when car makes contact. Once the car touches it that makes the light come on and the pole bends backward, I back off a few inches to allow pole to straighten out.

As other reviewers note, these don’t stand straight up because the stand comes in several pieces. However, they work well, and help us stop our cars in just the right place. More fun than a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling, and a better guide than a stop that just sits on the floor. I think I could get it to stand straighter with pvc pipe or even a foam insulating tube. I might try that sometime. ... show more

I bought this as a replacement for a previous flashing stop sign that broke due to no fault of the product. They were similar products, but different companies. This one has a bigger sign and the spring loaded shaft holds into the base a lot better than the previous one did. I have not had any issues and the flashers, while great, are really not necessary. I just see the sign move when my vehicle taps the shaft and know to stop right then and there. Definitely a very sturdy and easy-to-see stop sign for your garage! ... show more

    • Flimsy but ok
I am using these for my cars. It really is way too flimsy but usable. If there is another manufacturer out there, this is a great opportunity to put out the only quality garage stop sign.
