I ended up buying this instead of Unforgivable, which was my favorite fragrance as a teenager. The decision behind that was due to the complaints about reformulation and performance, but that's beside the point. I'm glad that I picked up Sean John instead, and I'll explain why: This is probably the easiest dumb reach in my collection. It's sweet and zesty, creamy and fresh. It ticks all the right boxes for me despite having mediocre performance. I get plenty of compliments and inquiries about it while at work, and no one seems to dislike it. It's also cheap enough I can douse myself in it and not care. I compare it to Diesel Only the Brave, and it compares favorably. It is less than half the price, has a similar scent profile, and only slightly weaker performance. The main tradeoff is that Sean John can smell distinctly artificial at times, but you only really notice when you soak in it. I hate to call this my signature scent when I own perfume 10x the price, but I find myself wearing it more often than just about anything else. It has that generic, mass appeal vibe while somehow not being a clone of more commercially successful perfumes.
