I measured right around my forehead at 57cm, which would have been a medium. Taking the advice of other reviewers, I ordered a size up and am glad I did. Very snug fit which is what you want in the rain, but it's not too tight. The inside feels very warm, and I like the shape of the hat and how it keeps my ears covered. I guess the hat does what it is supposed to do, keep the head warm and dry, but it is overpriced and it took more than three weeks to arrive..no indication on order site that it is coming from the UK! Missed christmas of course..I ordered it on Dec6 and it arrived on dec 23

The Sealskinz cap is thin, smallish but big on warmth. It does not look to be capable of keeping you warm but it does. This cap is easy to pack, easy to transport, and easy to misjudge. It arrived early and is pretty good quality but the warmth is highly oversold. This hat would be fine when the temps are in the 20's F but not lower than that. I was hoping for something that could handle sub zero. It is waterproof which is nice.

I bought this for sailing in the San Juan Islands; I currently live in the SF Bay Area which does not get as cold. I've been out twice on the bay on our catamaran, in fairly cold weather, and this cap worked wonders. It has just enough of a bill to cut direct sunlight, and the earflaps cover my ears well. I needed a hat for riding my mountain bike in the winter. This one is warm and stays put on the head. The ear flaps fit well and are warm. I found out that it is waterproof after getting caught miles from my truck in the rain at 39 degrees. The sizing does run small and I took the advice of reviewers and the company on their UK website and ordered one size larger. Don't fret if it's a little big as there is an adjustment strap on the back. I am happy to have found a product that performed as promised.
