Description

Sealskinz Solo Merino Glove Multitasking at its finest. Use the Solo Merino Liner Glove as a baselayer to keep you warm and toasty, or as a light stand- alone glove on warmer days. The Solo Merino Gloves from Sealskinz are designed to keep you going in a variety of climates. They are ideal to line under ski gloves for extra warmth, or for morning walks when you need a light layer of protection. The high Merino wool content provides extra comfort and moisture control. Finer than traditional wool with tiny overlapping scales that case each fibre, these scales are hydrophobic (water repellent). Inside it's a different story, the fibre core is hydrophilic (highly absorbant). Merino is therefore a wicking fibre and can absorb and release 10 times more moisture than synthetics. Each fibre can absorb up to one third of its own weight in moisture without feeling clammy or wet to the touch. In these gloves, the moisture is then wicked through the membrane to keep you feeling warm and dry. The full finger design provides added warmth and protection, in a close fitting design that fits perfectly under another glove.

  • Fits my xlarge hand and fingers perfect but thumbs are a half inch to long

Fits my xlarge hand and fingers perfect but thumbs are a half inch to long, annoying

  • One long thumb kind of ruins it.
Size: One Size Color: Black
I've had the fingerless version of these Seaslskinz for a couple years. Great gloves for their purpose, no complaints. I use them for driving and cycling often in fall-spring Ohio. If you have a use for fingerless merino gloves, look no further. These full finger versions are of the same blend and general construction. And they're nice, until you see that one thumb is an awkward 1/2" longer than the other. Flapping around annoyingly. I want to maybe try and put a couple strategic stitches in it to remedy the excess flop. But I'm no tailor. These gloves were so close to being a solid alternative to boutique priced brands of similar build. But that one weird long thumb really ruins it. ... show more

  • 20221130 @ 1630 (ET) -- Overnight testing is currently in progress ...

20221130 -- This review\experience is for: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R5QCVZZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Testing is currently in progress. The environment(s): Traversing back-and-forth from a four-door sedan, with limited heat --via an electric blanket and a separate electric heated mat, then out into raw 'Mother Nature'. I usually remain in the vehicle for a few hours, then walk and/or bicycle the property for one to two (02) hours. This should give you an idea of the experience. Current time this test was started 20221130 @ 1635 (ET). Current temps: Vehicle cabin: 54.5\F, Humidity: N/A -- remember the above heat source. Outside Temp/Hum: 38-F/46% Wind 14\mph Hands are already chilly; fingers are cold. Gloves arrived --with the quickness, I got them on my hands. I will make over-night date/time entries. 20221130 @ 1610, right-hand index and middle-finger tips are cold. The rest of those fingers and the hand are chilly with the glove 'on' and working a trackball (mouse). Left-hand does not feel as cold\chilly. At this point, with the gloves on, I would need to keep my hands in pockets and/or under the electric blanket. Con(s): -- challenging to use a trackball (decreased grip) or a laptops' touch-pad (Capacitive sensing). -- forget about touch-screen usage. -- difficult to hold 'any' non-porous item. -- Medium sized thumbs are a-bit long, or out of shape --causing excess material and space at the tip. If/when you slide the material down to fill the excess space, the material will crawl back up. Stay Tuned ... show more

  • Long Thumbs
Size: One Size Color: Black
I’m a woman who has long fingers, so I generally don’t have a problem with one size fits all unisex gloves. The fingers in these are fine, but the thumbs are super long. It’s the one thing wrong with these gloves. Otherwise I like them. They’re warm and comfortable. But the thumbs look so odd, they may be a dealbreaker. ... show more

  • Just an average pair of gloves
Size: One Size Color: Black
Not sure if it’s really made of merino wool, not as warm as expected.

  • Nothing special
Size: One Size Color: Black
It's a pair of glove liners with a brand name on the packaging.

  • Thumbs aittle large
Size: One Size Color: Black
I am looking for a comfortable merino glove. The glove was comfortable and kept my hands warm. However I had to return due to the thumbs being quite long. I have amedium glove sized hand. I needed a tighter fit for since these were going to be used inside a mitten in the cold. The extra thumb material would have gotten in the way when doing tasks that needed precision. If not for that issue I would have given the gloves five stars. ... show more
