  • Exceptional value and quality Flouro Line with the same qualities as Seagar Premier!
Size: 25-Pounds/200-yards
Super thin high quality flouro. Excellent for stealthy saltwater fishing rigs! I’ve been purchasing Seagar Blue and Premier Flouro line for many years. It’s simply the best IMO. When I found this Tatsu line, it looked like it had the same line diameter and strength as Seagar Premier at half of the price. Considering how many Pompanonrigs I tie, that’s a good thing. I used it to tie about 25 Pompano rigs using a Snoot (dropper loop rig with one end cut) as my dropper line. I then place a float on the line and snelled my hooks to the end. One the top end of the rig I used a figure 8 loop to attach the rig to my main line. At the bottom of the rig I tied on a snap swivel to attach a pyramid weight. These rigs are quick and easy to tie and they are super stealthy. I caught a bunch of Pompano and for the most part, they performed very well. I say for the most part because several did break in normal conditions. Yet, some rigs were so strong that I was able to drag in some very large drums and stingrays. The question about durability is still open. Some rigs seemed to break way to easily. I must say that this could be because I did a poor job tying the knot or I simply didn’t lubricate it enough when cinching it tight. I had rigs break in weird ways, but I’ve seen this with even the most expensive lines. Catfish with sandpaper teeth could also compromise the line if they swallowed the hook. Again, this is true even with mono. Amazingly, A few Pompano pros asked me how I was getting so many bites when they weren’t. I pointed them to this line. None of them had ever heard of it. Many asked if I would loan them one of my rigs. One went exclusively to this rig type I er a rig that they had tied and used for many years. It works! So, in synopsis, this line is high quality very stealthy, super thin Flouro line. It not only caught me a lot of fish, I was regularly getting higher quality fish than the people I fished with. Is it better or equal to Seagar Premier? I cannot answer that yet and I don’t know that I’ll go through enough effort to determine this. Realize that when you fish with super light line in saltwater, you’ll get way more bites, but you’ll also break a few off. The breaking strength of a dropper loop rig is known to compromise line strength! In the end, you’ll need to decide if losing a few rigs is worth getting more bites. I highly recommend this line. My only wish is that it came in line strength up to 60#. ... show more

  • Buy something else any other fluorocarbon on the planet is better
Size: 10-Pounds/200-yards
I’ve been a fisherman for 27 years I’ve caught steelhead, tuna, You name it... I know how to tie knots and I know a terrible fluorocarbon when I use one... I bought this in eight and ten lb test and brought it out for steelhead. Using 10lb test I broke three fish off on the hook set in a row on brand new un-chaffed leaders. Stripped 20 yds off the spool thinking maybe there was a defective section or something tied a new leader on snapped off the next fish I hooked. 8lb test was same result. Needless to say I threw this in the trash along with every Tatsu spool I had. ... show more

  • MADE IN CHInA PIECE OF JUNK
Size: 12-Pounds/200-yards
This thing curls up with memory like a genius gorilla. The different test lines have different manufacturing of origin areas. So I got 12 lb test line and it is made in China! Not the great quality country of Japan or Taiwan but China!!! Basically, the line sure its Fluorocarbon, but the backlash is real if you aren't careful and watching your line while casting. ... show more

  • Not for Me
Size: 8-Pounds/200-yards
No issues with knot strength or memory. Actually haven't had it on long enough for memory to be an issue. Have had problems with durability. After a long fight in open river with a salmon on my steelhead rig (8lb test) the line was shot. This was a new rod and reel rig and I don't believe there were issues with the guides or rollers. Maybe the fish dragged me over something I wasn't aware of and scraped it up such that any line would have been destroyed. Maybe. Did not note it during the fight but something certainly happened to the line. Was apparent the next day that the line was shot and not just a few feet. Frayed and slivered well back into the spool and had to take off enough to impact casting. Only got to use it a few times so, for me, no more $40 line. ... show more

  • Completely unusable
Size: 12-Pounds/200-yards
From everything I read Tatsu is one of the best fluros money can buy. This stuff is completely unusable with a spinning rod. Jumps off the reel and tangles on EVERY cast. Even when it doesn't tangle, it wraps around the tip of the rod and you have to unwrap it before reeling in. Very frustrating. I wish I could return the line but it's already spooled. Will be throwing it out soon. ... show more

  • Better knot strength than blue or red label
Size: 10-Pounds/200-yards
I was skeptical and decided to try it against red and blue label Seaguar. I don’t use floro for mainline except for one or two applications most of this product is used as leader. The breaking strength with a Trilene knot is much higher with this product versus blue or red label . My favorite version of this is the 6 pound used in conjunction with PowerPro super8 20 pound on a spinning rod. I also use the 10 pound as leader on 40 pound super eight for jerk bait and finesse jigs. ... show more

  • All I use!!
Size: 15-Pounds/200-yards
Very expensive but worth the money to me. Used all the other carbon lines on the market and this is by far the best. Best? That word can be subjective but I’ll say this. Of all the lines, tatsu has the least about of stretching the best for abrasion resistance and I can with out a doubt have Deff seen a major increase in bites and fish.. #12 is used for jerk baits # 15 for traps and cranks and jigs and wacky rigs and I alter 20/25 for swim baits. # 20/25 are way diff.. #25 is way stiffer then #20 But don’t buy it because you will by more and that can be costly when you have many reels to spool ... show more
