Purchased December 2021 I purchased this because the storage space of my Xbox Series S is pathetic in terms of game size for current games that are out now. Adding 2TB to my Xbox has made things so much easier and I have almost run out of space on the hard drive, but that's because I have installed a bunch of games on it. Games that I have run from the external drive had no sort of lag, long load times, or any issues with the drive disconnecting. Please take this bit of advice; I didn't do my research when getting this hard drive and did not know that I would not be able to play Series X/S games directly from the hard drive. If you want to play newer games (that show "X/S" on the game tile, you will have to move the game from the external drive to the console's drive. You CAN however run older games from the external drive with no issues. ... show more

I needed more storage space for my Xbox so I purchased this. SSD drives are better than other storage devices as there are no moving parts. My games load much faster.

An absolutely fantastic product that has a noticeable impact on load times for games installed on it. The only downside would be the price. It’s a bit expensive, given some of the options for setting up an external SSD enclosure for use with a console.

    • Makes Xbox1x load times near PC
I wanted to get this specifically for Destiny2 to speed up load times. I am shocked at how much fast using SSD really works for XB1X. I'm starting activities 30sec or more waiting for the rest of my fireteam to land. Pricey but worth it.

Exactly what we needed

    • Died after 3 years of normal use.
Had it plugged in to my Xbox One X through the front usb port on the left side. Died last week. Confirmed it by plugging it into my pc. Disk manager doesn't even see it. Its dead. Almost $400.00 wasted. Ironically the playstation external drive I bought still works, and that was only $100.00. Seagates quality control is SUS. The PS4 GameDrive died, too, I think, actually. Disk Management cannot see either drive. My Western Digital MyPassport drive from 2018 is still working, at least. To reiterate, SEAGATE IS SUS. ... show more
