WHY I BOUGHT IT: I just started a ceramic course for beginners and decided to buy my own tools, as sharing the ones provided by the teacher slowed me down too much. WHAT YOU GET: I bought the 8-piece set, which contains a nice variety of basic tools (see photo). The tools are pretty high quality for the price: they are made of steel and hardwood. As a beginner, I was able to sculpt clay using this tools with no issues, and I didn't notice a lot of difference with respect to the higher quality tools provided by the teacher. The tools come in a plastic pouch which is very handy, but a bit to small in my opinion. BOTTOM LINE: This is a great set for beginners, especially at this price! I am impressed with these clay sculpting tools. I bought them for my Grandson, I have no idea if he will enjoy working with clay but you never know till you try it. He is always bored so I figured it was a small price if he doesn't like it. I figured he could look up working with clay on the internet to get ideas. (I LOVE the internet!) I also bought him a 5 pound chunk of air dry clay. Maybe if he does, I will know what to give him other Christmas's! These tools are pretty nice. A bare minimum kit costs arm and a leg at the student bookstore. I found this kit and it was a great value and included so many more tools.
