This is a great idea for getting an extra large Engrave area, but you will have to get very creative in finding a way to keep the very long cables out of the way when the head is moving. The cables get in the way and ruin cuts. They need to provide a better cable management system with this. For $100 they could have cut the cables differently and included a drag chain or two. the large work area is a plus and the unit was well packaged and in excellent condition. The surface is steel so magnets work great to hold your workpiece either down or positioned. I use old hard drive magnets and they hold the workpiece in position and down on the surface.

It more than exceeded my expectations, especially with the expanded package for $100 more. Don't know if it would be as cool without expanding kit so I definitely would spend the extra to get it.

The product was very nice quality it is just a bit misleading. The cutting area is not a true 300x200 it is actually a cutting area of 250x150.

If you are starting out and need something on the cheap, this is a good match for you. If you are hoping that the sides will help you line up your work, please read other reviews and see that this is not square. I used it out of cheapness and not need and have since upgraded. It does work, but I am usually in a hurry when I get a chance to throw something on the laser and I need it square. Works, so buy or do not buy that is your choice. ... show more

    • Cables stopped working

At first everything was working fine and then the next day I went to go use it everything but the laser was working. I put the old cables back in and everything started working again but now i'm not able to engrave big things anymore.
