  • Fun activity for all ages
This gemstone dig kit is targeted for kids, but I had really fun using this kit with my boyfriend. All you have to do is soak the balls in water for about 10 minutes and then you can dig away to uncover what gemstones you received. It comes with a little tool and a booklet so you know exactly what you get. I loved how fun this was and it’s really soothing to do if you have a lot of patience. ... show more

  • Bit messy but my kid loves them and there's more than one gem per planet!
I gave these to my kid for Easter and they were a hit. They were a nice change from giving plastic-filled eggs but they are messy so have something to catch all the dust and debris! The stones were varied and nice and my kid's favorite part was that more than one gem was in each planet.

  • The kids had a blast at Easter -- but what a mess
This is a neat idea --- the kids use tools to "excavate" into the little planets to find the hidden (semi-precious) gems inside. The smaller kids had a blast with these at our Easter party... We like that it's science-based and both familiarizes astronomy and geology.. although I'm not sure Uranus actually has Tigers Eye inside (but maybe Black Obsidian, ha). While the kids had fun smashing the planets to collect shiny rocks, they left a horrible mess. I'm not kidding..... It looks like they took 25 multicolored bath bombs and lit a brick of M80 firecrackers under them. It's a sea of colored chalky debris ground into our backyard decorative decomposed granite. We pray for the cleansing rain. We pray for our salvation. ... show more
