The Schwinn Elm is a great bike for teaching your child to ride with confidence. The Elm features a SmartStart design, which has been carefully calibrated to a child’s proportions for a comfortable ride and ideal riding position. This includes a lighter bike frame for added control, smaller grip handles to match smaller hands, a narrower pedal position to match narrow kid hips, and much more. Best of all, the Elm grows with your child. The tool-free adjustable seat post easily accommodates your child as they get taller. • Outstanding kids bike for the price.
Color: Red Size: Number Plate/18-Inch Wheels
This 18" bike was purchased for a 4.5 year old (46" tall) who is riding without training wheels. Despite reservations that this bike would be too big, it is the perfect size with the seat down all the way and there is plenty of room to grow. Assembly took about 20 minutes and the only tools that were needed was an Alan wrench, socket set and Phillip screwdriver. Most of this time was actually spent unpacking the bike which was wrapped heavily in cardboard and other protective material. Actual assembly time was closer to 10 minutes. The only fine tuning required was the front break and everything else went together smoothly. I liked how the handlebars are adjustable so I was able to angle them inward for the shorter arm reach. I did remove the plastic number plate off the handlebars because I didn't like the look. Otherwise this is a sharp looking and sturdy kids bike that should be good for two to three years of use. I also liked that it came with a kick stand which most other bikes tend to come without these days. This is a shout out to Amazon Warehouse Deals for a Used - Very Good item that only had a banged up box and otherwise appeared brand new for $60 less than a new bike. Most sizes and colors had numerous items on Amazon Warehouse Deals so there is a good chance you'll be able to save some money on this bike. Funny thing is this item actually came with two sets of pedals, when most items tend to be missing parts, so if you get this item and are missing pedals let me know and I've got you covered. ... show more

  • Great bike
Color: Pink Size: Basket/16-Inch Wheels
We got this one for our granddaughter's fifth birthday and it was a hit. It was super easy to assemble and the design and sturdiness of the bike was excellent. Schwinn has always been a good name for bikes so I felt this was a good choice for her first two wheeler. She had an easy time riding and loved it. In fact, it was such a hit that we bought a second one for her sister who will be turning 3 this month. She's tall for her age and loved riding her sister's bike. She chose a different color and is really happy with it. Only downside is the lack of a kick stand which we will need once the training wheels come off. It would be nice to have a matching stand rather than the chrome color that can be purchased separately. The basket is also a bit flimsy and could break after several falls once the training wheels come off and the bike hits the ground. These are all minor inconveniences as the overall quality of the bike seems really good. It's only our first month so we'll have to see how the two bikes hold up after this summer. ... show more

  • Exactly as pictured 💜
Color: Teal Size: Basket/18-Inch Wheels
The bike is a gift for my granddaughter, and she LOVES it!!! I am pretty handy with tools, but having said that, be aware that the box it arrived in clearly states that it should be assembled by a professional, and the instructions were not specifically for the bike I bought.. so you have to figure out what type of seat , wheels and most importantly brakes you have. And you will need a tire pressure gauge and bike pump, because the tires have to be inflated to a specific PSI. Also, if you read the AI generated information about ease of assembly, know that there are NO TOOLS included as it says.. the box does not state that tools are included.. so I’m not sure where that information came from. Aside from that, it’s a very sturdy bike, the seat height is adjustable so as your child grows taller, the bike can grow with them. Stability with the training wheels in place is really good. I would definitely recommend this bike.. but if you are not mechanically inclined, be prepared to have someone else put it together. ... show more

  • Good Bike except for one part
Color: Red Size: Number Plate/16-Inch Wheels
My son loves this bike, it's fantastic. But one of the training wheels was warped when it was made so it doesn't spin right. It didn't seem like a big deal and I don't think he notices, so I haven't talked to the manufacturer. Perfect bike tho minus that issue so 4 stars.

  • Missing part, damaged box, brakes not aligning
Color: Blue Size: Number Plate/18-Inch Wheels
This bicycle is notably cheaper than my daughter’s Schwinn purchased from a store. I expected it to be both easy to put together and ready to go once assembled. The directions are foolishly complicated, when in truth, following common sense will have it together in quick time. Also, many of the tips in the direction are unhelpful or confusing. For example, when assembling the handlebars it references a photo to ensure you have the brake wires in the correct spot, but there are no brake wires in the photo. In my case, a screw was missing from the hand brake, so it spins in place on the handlebar. Also, the front brake shifts from side-to-side on the post and doesn’t touch the wheel. I followed the directions to adjust the brakes without luck. It’s as tight as it can get on the post but still moves. When centered, it doesn’t touch the wheel. Also, one hand brake is too tight and the other is loose. The headache of reaching out to customer service to get the missing screw but also having to troubleshoot and figure out the brakes isn’t worth it. I’d rather pay an extra $50 or more and have bought it assembled and ready to go from a store. (My daughters was bought from a store, assembled, and adjusted to her for $45 more for a better quality bike.) I’m really disappointed with the purchase, but deterred by the effort to return it. I’m frustrated by the additional time it will take to figure out the brakes and obtain the missing screw too. Truly considering paying a local store to troubleshoot as my kiddo is pumped for using the bike, but it needs brakes to safely be used. (There was also a small Knick in the paint from the box being damaged in transit.) ... show more
