Bought two pairs of mares and foals for a kid who is old enough to think that horses are awesome, but too young to play gently with Breyer models' fragile legs. This was a way better choice for now. They're made of a sturdy, rubbery plastic and the paint on all four was very nice. Not "this is breathtakingly realistic" nice but there were no major over-sprays or weird hues. None of the ones I got were tippy but in case you get one with a funky leg: dip the legs in super hot water for a moment then straighten as much as you can.
