I bought these in Florida. I traveled to Montana, Wyoming, and Little Cottonwood Cayon in Utah. All the roads were show packed and icy. My tires were adequate to get over the passes in 4wd. The trail fit was perfect and the cam locks work great and I don’t think tensioners are needed.

I ordered these Tire chains for the rear tires on my MAHINDRA 26XLT FWD Sub Compact Tractor. I plow our 250' driveway with the combination of the Front End Loader ana a Rear Mounted 72" Plow mounted on the 3 Point Hitch (The 72" Plow weighs about 350 pounds. These chains were easy to install (with the CAM Adjusters in three places on the Outside of the chains. The Chains appear to be made of very hard steel - I used a H.D. Bolt cutter to remove the extra 6" pigtail (3-4 links). The one thing you should know is that these chains "stand" about 1 " tall above my tires + the cross links are every 4 side links . They do cause the tractor to have a lot of vibration when operating on paved surfaces ... show more

Great product if you need them. I've never installed tire chains before and these were simple enough to figure out. I have them on my jeep with 35x12.5x17 and they fit as they should. Only thins gI feel like they need are an extra rung at the top of the pic and a slightly longer handle maybe a plastic grip on it too. But I'm sure I can find an aftermarket handle for tightening up the cams. Overall I'm very pleased and look forward to using them in some snow this winter. Cheers! ... show more

Solid product haven’t used them yet but have had troubles finding chains for my tires. These fit perfectly with 3 extra links hanging. Tires measure to 33.5” and 12” wide on a 17” wheel.

I ultimately returned these as the clearance just wasn't great thanks to some poor Ford engineering (no fault of the chains). But... these are fantastic chains with one caveat- you ABSOLUTELY MUST SECURE THE LOOSE CHAIN ENDS or you'll have an 8" chain flail whipping around inside and outside the wheel wells, smacking your tie rod ends, steering knuckles, brake lines, sway bar, whatever a long section of chain would ideally NOT be repeatedly beaten with... Simple answer, as illustrated in the description, is to take a wire tie and simply bind the loose chain ends down so they don't flail. Not sure if zip ties would be strong enough or not, but you get the idea. Throw a handful of wire ties and/or zip ties in your glove box anyway. ... show more

I thought I was ordering an inferior product to this one— I was pleasantly surprised! These are the chains your local government uses on its heavy equipment. The real deal, super tough, heavy chains. If you want cheap, tiny little thin chains that will break easily and slip on six inches of packed snow, then look elsewhere. I made the mistake with cheap chains in the past and wish I had bought Security Chain Company products sooner. Easy to put on and adjust. The cams are a new concept for me but work as designed. I was skeptical about them at first. I still use a backup tension system of heavy duty rubber tie-downs, but never had an issue. I use these chains to plow snow on the Canadian border and they make my truck unstoppable. On ice at 28 degrees below zero, these are the best chains I’ve ever used. ... show more

I don’t understand why the tire size isn’t clearly listed on the Amazon page it makes it hard to determine which size you need. This set does not fit 305/70/18 which I would have known if the discrption would have included the tire sizes on the front of the bag.
