I heard about gel x from a hairstylist while I was on vacation. She had someone do hers but I had to look it up. It sounded pretty simple. IT IS! I like having my nails done but can't bring myself sit for over an hour every few weeks for it. I like press ons but am really hard on my hands so they don't last a full week (even with super glue, don't judge me!) I go between salon and press ons but neither are great options for me. Bleh. But honestly this was so easy. If you've ever used press ons or painted your own nails the old fashioned way, you already know how to do the important steps here. When I first opened up and looked at the toenail covers, then put it up to my toenail, didn't look like it would fit. But then I had to remember they're just caps for your natural toenails. So I did everything I was supposed to do my prep work. Then follow the instructions. It actually came out cute looks like my natural toenails but it look like it have a stronger look to it... I think it's good for people that don't have strong toenails or don't like the way they're toenails are shaped and they want them more strong healthier look. Overall nice product..👌 ... show more

I know they don’t look great right now because honestly I got excited and didn’t take my time to do the whole process while painting because I hadn’t had my toes done in months. I am fairly new to applying gel to my nails myself , I decided to take it up on my own to save money that being said it’s going to take me some time to neatly do this but my goal is ti gain skill after some time. The only thing I did not like was the gel glue in the container with a screw off cap it was a mess and sticky, it comes off with rubbing alcohol though, I may have to keep trying but I prefer the brush on gel (foundation one) I only used artificial nails on my big toes but I’m hoping the gel will grow my nails out so I won’t have to use the artificial nails after this time, my nails became brittle 7 months postpartum and gel has helped me with nail growth in the past! When I put my full set on, I had no issues. Then, the hand that I did that last started lifting. I keep in mind one hand did great no lifting and lasted two weeks . I gave it the benefit of the doubt that it was me. When I started to replacing the nails, the light would not come on. I reached out to customer service, they didn’t address the fact that the light was out, but accused me of not putting the nails on correctly and prepping. I then had to email them again reminding them that the light wasn’t working. They informed me that the light was not in stock and so they wanted to take 15% off the purchase price. I responded that I felt they should give me 50% because the products useless without the light and for the frustration of having to deal with this. Would you want to walk around with one hand completely finished and the other hand not finished? Personally, with all the hassle that I’ve had to go through a real customer service would’ve just given me the product refund. I’m not looking for anything free, but this has been a hassle to deal with. I had to go ahead and order another light because I couldn’t let my hand go and finished until they got this resolved. They still say they want to give me 15%. If I were you, I would go with another company. Yes the product is good however, customer service is terrible. The last thing you want to have to deal with is poor customer service when you have one finished hand and one hand that is not. I suggest that you go ahead and get a good quality light if you’re going to do your nails at home regardless of the product that you buy. You don’t want to be in the middle of a set and not have a light to work with. They are plenty of nail kits on Amazon. Go with one that has good customer service that’s worth it’s weight in gold. ... show more
