Great desk. Instructions are 9/10. Some parts did not have part "Letters" on them but was easy to figure out. Took me 4 hours to put together. Make sure you have a large space on the floor to build. Makes easier to lay parts out and assemble. Great finish. Looks great. Only knock is some edges are off a VERY small bit. (I am OCD, 99.9% of people prob will never notice.). Power tools are a plus. My biggest hesitation in buying this desk was other reviewers saying it was difficult to assemble and the pieces didn't line up. It did take a long time (about 6 hours), but everything fit together quite well. All parts, including hardware, were extremely well marked. The instructions were clear and even included videos on most steps. If you can be organized and follow instructions, it'll go together easily. The sliders on the drawers aren't very good quality, but overall this desk is great and I'd buy it again. ... show more

    • Heavy & sturdy, with lots of parts...
Overall, the desk looks great. The veneer is decent for the price point. It is very sturdy, once it is fully assembled. Most of the particle board panels are labeled and the instructions are clear. Make sure you refer to the diagrams to make sure you are using the correct parts, especially with regards to the screws and plastic angles used to attach the drawer faces. It took 5 hours for two people to assemble. While it wasn't difficult, I would still recommend at least two people for assembly due to the weight and the fact that not all parts have a strong joint (some panels are held together by two or three concealed screws, initially). My only complaint is with the drawer slides. While the faces of the drawers and the slides themselves align well, they are tough to pull and push. The bearings on the slides are greased, and they are smooth by themselves, but the weight of the drawers (even when empty) makes them a hassle. They should consider using the drawer slides from the Sauder Heritage Hill Desk, as those were very smooth. ... show more

    • Not as hard to assemble as most reviews state
I was hesitant to purchase this desk due to all the reviews about how long assembly took and how hard it was. It was not easy but with two people it took about 3.5 hours. I say two people not for the lifting and holding aspects, but to talk through the assembly and second guess each other at times. The directions definitely don’t specify certain pieces like they should but going slow and reading a few times you could catch it. Some steps seem to get ahead of the entire assembly causing it to be harder to maneuver a screw driver. You can easily back up, quickly disassemble, and continue. I will admit not everything aligns seamlessly as I’d hopped and the drawers are a bit sticky which I hope changes over use. It is however barely noticeable. Great desk! ... show more

    • Not Good at all
This is an extremely heavy table and it took close to 9 hours to fix it. The top drawers on both sides are stuck and does not come out. I feel like the most used drawers that I would use are wasted as they are stuck forever now and there is no way to pull them out. I would not recommend this table to anyone. Even the other drawers are not smooth enough to pull. It is very nice to look at but not usable enough to use it for a few months. If you still want to buy then hire an external contractor to build it. I would not recommend anyone to buy it. ... show more

Where do I start? Lets begin with the delivery. The driver had a problem with the back lift so I had to help him get it off the truck .I believe it was 247lbs. That was after he had realized one mistake he had made. He wished me luck with my new 79 in. HDTV, I said WHAT TV!!! I told him it should be a desk .Ok Let me Check the truck .Oh here it is all the way on the bottom of the pallet that had boxes on top of it. As we were putting the TV back on the truck that was when the lift broke. So he gets the desk to the back of the truck and between me and him we got the TV up on the truck after he dropped his side and it hit the pavement but I don't think it was hard enough to damage the TV. Now we gingerly managed to get the desk off the back without damaging it. He leaves and I begin to open the carton only to find the top of the desk was damaged. Yes of course it was going to take another 7 - 10 days to have the replacement delivered. I couldn't put all those pieces back in the box and send the whole desk back or I would have. All in all the new top arrives about the 10th day and I began putting it together. Directions were fairly good but I don't believe the average person would have completed it as I am very handy . some of the screws were missing and a crucial bracket was not compatible with the predrilled holes so I went and bought a matching bracket rather than wait another week or more for it to be replaced. The finished product was not all that bad. The desk was pretty sturdy and it looks elegant so I might have given it a fourth star but with all the negative factors I couldn't. Good luck if you buy it. Do Not Attempt to put it together if you are not Handy. ... show more

    • Looks great and terrific customer service
Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase. Shipped in two heavy boxes, upon receipt I could see damage to the outside of the larger box. Although the pieces are packaged well with lots of Styrofoam, some of the pieces were still damaged. I am sure the damage occurred during the shipping process. One call to Sauder Customer Service and I was talking to a live person in just a couple of minutes. Deb immediately helped me identify the damaged pieces and started an order for new replacement parts without any hassle. Once I had all the parts, I separated them all and started the assembly process which took around 7 hours. The instructions were straight forward and easy to understand with QR codes links to videos for each step if needed. The completed desk looks great, has plenty of drawer space and functions well. Very nice looking furniture. However, it is too exacting. I followed all the instructions and yet, the bottom right drawer won't engage the rails. There is no link to contact the seller if you want anything less than a complete return. I just need the bottom right big drawer assembly. I can't return the product at this point because I am almost done putting it together. ... show more
