  • Works really good!
This is my first adapter from Satechi. I must say, I am really impressed. I normally buy from Belkin but this one feels more premium. I cannot comment on the “Volume Control” I don’t have any earphones which has the volume buttons to test it. I use this on my M1 iPad Pro 11” and it works like a charm. I use mines for playing PUBG Mobile and it doesn’t disappoint. It does get a little hot after a long use but that is expected because of hours of use and it’s made of aluminum. So do expect a bit of heat. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great product but does NOT work with a case
Satechi makes some of the BEST quality products out there. I am very impressed with all that I have bought for my iPhone, iPad and MacBook. But this will not work in my iPad with a case. The width of the enclosure of the USB connector in to the iPad USB C is too wide to allow a connection. It works well without case interference. It gets quite warm but Satechi says that is normal. It makes a good connection but if you use a case do not get this. There are cheaper ones that work but Satechi’s quality is the best. I had both a Zugu case and a Logitech Touch Combo keyboard case for my 2021 iPad Pro 12.9 in. Satechi should note that this product is not case friendly. ... show more

  • A handy adapter for tablet users
I’ve been a fan of Satechi products for many years now. I find them reliable and really well designed. One of the things I like about Satechi products is that they integrate well with my Apple gear. The design team at Satechi is top-notch and they know that users like me appreciate it when their accessories match their primary devices. This adapter is no exception. It’s got a premium look to it and the color matches my MacBook Pro's Space Gray perfectly. The adapter comes in a professionally branded box that would work well on a retail shelf. I only mention this because there are a lot of products that I get from online retailers that come in generic packaging. This adapter (and other Satechi products) are not like that. The Satechi logo is printed on the front of the box and there is an image of the product featured there, too. The back of the box shows the main feature of the device (audio jack port, USB-C PD charging port, braided cable, and aluminum construction) and provides another image of the device in use. The adapter comes with a user manual that provides simple instructions for use of the device. It’s a plug-and-play device so you will not need to download any software to make it work. To operate the adapter you simply plug it into the USB-C port of your tablet or computer and then plug your accessories into their respective ports. The manual is multilingual and also includes the FCC information about the adapter. MAIN FEATURES Audio Jack Port: To test this out, I used my iPad Pro (11-inch, 2018) as a test subject. I plugged the adapter into the USB-C port of the iPad and then plugged a 3.5mm audio cable into its port. The other end of the cable was connected to a set of over-ear headphones. I tapped ‘play’ on my Music app and was able to hear a very clean signal from the headphones. I checked the sources menu on the iPad and it was showing that the headphones were connected through the adapter. There was no hassle in connecting the headphones through the adapter. USB-C PD Charging Port: Using the same set-up as I did to test the Audio Jack, I plugged the iPad into a power source via the USB-C port on the adapter. The iPad charged with no problems. I also connected a USB-C flash drive to the adapter to see if the iPad would recognize it. This test was also successful and I was able to open files on the flash drive with no problems. Braided Cable: I’m a fan of braided cables because they have proven to be more durable for my uses and they get tangled much less than non-braided cables. This adapter, however, only has a 6-inch cable extension attached. This seems to be adequate for most uses and it makes it possible to tuck the cable behind the iPad while it’s in a case or on a stand. Aluminum Construction: As I mentioned above, one of the reasons I use Satechi products is because of their durability. The aluminum construction on this adapter not only provides a strong level of protection for the cable but also makes it look great. Overall, this is a very handy adapter to keep around if you are a user of recently released iPads (since 2018). It works the way it’s designed and because it’s so compact, it’s easy to store away when it’s not in use. This is a smart investment. ... show more

  • Elegant workmanship that works seamlessly
I never had an issue with this brand and happy to add this to my iPad Pro collection of accessories. I know many people are using BT headphones these days or maybe opted to purchase USB C headphones. Thanks to manufacturers like this who do not bottleneck everyone together and still make products for those that are still in their old ways.. sort of. I am still using headphones with the legacy connection because I use them with my iPhone which takes lighting connector and with my ipad that uses USB C. So I can use the same headphones when I stay with this connection type with both devices by just adding in an additional adapter. They adapter shines because it has an added PD pass through charging port built into the unit, so you can connect headphones as well as connect an external charging source allowing fast charge. PD= power delivery. The nylon cable from connector to 2 port connection is thick for durability and a tad stiff. The matte grey is smooth to the touch and lighter than the spay grey that apple uses on their iPads. Doesn’t get too hot when actively in use and charging either. Perfect solution for those that are in my situation and looking for a hardware connection and not having to also think about charging BT headphones. This works seamlessly everytime I plug in to setup my solution. ... show more
