  • Replacement joystick for home arcade.
I bought this to replace the virtually brand new joystick. GameRoomSolutions stand up cabinet. This is exactly the same size and shape so it was literally as easy as removing and installing 4 small screws. It looks virtually identical to the one I was replacing with a minor difference in the color of the computer board. The original was more green and this one more olive colored. The difference in how it works is amazing. This controller is night nd day better than the original. You can feel it kind of clicking when you push the handle in different directions. I would definitely buy again, and I am super happy with my gameroomsolutions.com cabinet. ... show more

  • Arcade1up replacement/upgrade
Color: Red
Due to the issues with a joystick on both of my Arcade1up machines I have now put one of these in two different Arcade1up machines (Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam). They feel kind of similar to the stock sticks but there is certainly a quality difference. The clicking is a little quieter and less cheap sounding than the stock sticks in the Arcade1up cabinets. It comes set up as 8-way but can be switched to 4-way if u are using it for Pac-Man or something like that by adjusting the retainer on the bottom of the stick. It’s pretty easy to do but you have to take the control deck off to access the bottom of the joystick. I like the standard square 8-way gate and even don’t mind the light tension springs for the NBA Jam but hate both in the MK. I put an octagonal gate on the one in the Mortal Kombat machine and love it. I plan on putting 4 lb tension springs in the MK cabinet and maybe 2 lb springs in the NBA Jam (just so it dosnt feel so cheap). As far as install goes, you have to be somewhat handy, but it’s pretty easy to install. You will want to take the metal plate off of your stock Arcade1up joystick and install it on your new sanwa. This way the screw holes match up and you don’t have to make a bunch of new holes. The other thing is this joystick comes with a 5 pin connector and the 1up has 8 wires soldered in. This is where you may spend a little extra time figuring it out. Basically, under your joystick, there are four switches/buttons (up, down, left, right). On the stock setup, each switch is connected to the control board with two wires (power and ground). To wire in the new joystick, you just have to use the included connecter and splice 5 wires. You will use the positive wire from each switch and connect to one of the four colored wires on the connecter. You can use just one of the old grounds and connect it to the black wire on the included connecter. You could solder the wires, but I just twisted and used heat shrink tubes and a heat gun. Electrical tape would work fine too. A little trial and error may be needed to have your directions correct if your like me, but the second time was a lot easier. Size wise the sanwa is about the same as the Arcade1up sticks so the only issues fitting should be able to be resolved by orienting the stick so the 5 pin connecter isn’t obstructed. I will try to add pictures if I do another one or when I do the springs. ... show more

  • Easy mod
Color: Black
I bought an inexpensive joystick to play Street Fighter, but I wanted an octagon gate so I switched it and a few other parts took about 30 minutes and the joystick works really well.

  • A Must-Have Replacement Part
Color: Gray
I love my Senwa joystick. It's served as a justifiable & suitable replacement to the stock joystick that I purchased with another product brand. While looking around at what was available online here, I couldn't tell the difference between all of the color choices. While this colored version of the joystick seems to cost less, I needed the hardware replacement—and I didn't' care what color the ball top was. Heck, I was going to replace or not use it anyway. I'm happy to say that the choice to use Senwa has been good. There's less play in the stick while it's sitting idle in the dead zone. It contacts the micro-switches quicker when I move the stick. It also has better tension, offering a reasonable amount of feedback. While this stick offered me a greater improvement over the stock option I had on my fight stick, I was happy to see that I can modify this joystick. I replaced the 1lb spring inside the stick with a 2lb tension spring. I was also able to replace the plastic actuator (that fits over the spring), with a 1mm oversized one... so that it contacted the micro-switches even faster when I moved the stick. This stick also allows for the inter-changeability of either a 4-way or 8-way gate for improved gameplay; You'll want to get an 8-way restrictor plate, trust me. Whatever your gaming needs or choices, the Senwa joystick certainly offers up a dramatic improvement, and high-caliber quality in this market. I'm very new to the fighting genre overall, and I've recently purchased my very first fighting stick—so seeing all of the options to modify my gear to suit my style/needs is really awesome. I highly recommend that you purchase the 8-way octagonal gate that goes with this stick. I also highly recommend that you get a 5-pin female-to-female harness to connect to your Encoder PCB... unless you enjoy splicing, crimping, and soldering your own wires into place. This is a great stick, and I love that it can be 100% modified. If your stock fighting joystick feels like it's missing it's mark, the Senwa stick is a good replacement choice in my opinion. Two thumbs up! By the way, if you're actually looking to have a grey colored ball top... this is actually much lighter than pictured here. It is not a dark grey top, which I probably would've used. ... show more

  • Absolutely LOVE this joystick!
Color: Black
The joysticks that came in my Pandora Arcade console were terrible. I ordered this joystick and it is awesome! I makes playing games just like they were at the arcade. This joystick is very smooth and very accurate on moves.

  • Used. Or someone used it to swap parts or something.
Color: Black
This is either used or someone bought it to swap some parts around and returned the mess. The pivot was over greased, not something Sanwa would do. This caused the metal washer to come loose, something that shouldn't happen in the first place. Luckily I only needed it for parts, so I'm not upset about it. But if I had bought this thinking I was about to drop a fresh Sanwa JLF in my stick, I'd be upset. ... show more
