This has 1 job and that's to support the gate. The gate I use it on is the 1 my 5 kids use all day to get their bikes. They each go in and out of it probably 4 times a day each. I couldn't be happier that this wheel holds up the gate like it does. My gate is vinyl so I was worried it would come off the gate eventually. It's been mounted 3 months now and opened and closed 2k times. I added bricks in the dirt under the wheel path so it has an easier route. ... show more

I bought two casters to install on a double gate. I changed the orientation on one of the casters. As others have mentioned, this wasn't easy. I installed the casters on my gates. This wasn't difficult. I compressed the springs, using zip ties to keep the springs compressed. After installing the casters on the gates, I found out that the wheel on the gate I will be opening most often hangs up against the opposite gate. I can open the gate, but the wheels getting stuck is aggravating. The best way to install these is to put one one side of one gate, and install the other caster on the opposite side of the other gate. This should work perfectly and will not require the difficult task of disassembling the caster to change the orientation. I wish I had known this sooner. If I put the caster on the other side of my vinyl gate now, I will have several holes left. I can put screws in the holes, I guess. If there is a gap of at least three inches between your gates, these should work with both casters on the same side. Also, if you always open both gates at the same time the casters will work fine. I only open one gate to walk through unless I need to drive through the ga tes. Update: I removed one of the casters and disassembled it to change the orientation of the bracket back to the way it was originally. I installed the casters on the opposite of the gate so that one caster is on the outside and the other is on the inside of the gates. This works perfectly. The wheels don't get stuck anymore. I had to paint seven screws white and put them in holes where the bracket used to be. I'm changing my rating to four stars because I like how the casters work now. It would have been helpful if the instructions had told me to install the casters as they are now though. ... show more

I was hoping that this would roll easily, I do have some gravel and was hoping it would roll easier over the gravel. It pretty much has to be a very flat smooth surface to roll well. I ended up returning it.
