  • A Surprisingly Capable Budget Blaster for DIY Enthusiasts
The Gyfent Sand Gun Blaster offers a surprisingly effective and affordable entry point into the world of sandblasting. While its plastic construction may initially raise concerns, this blaster delivers respectable performance for its price, making it an ideal choice for hobbyists, DIY enthusiasts, and those tackling small-scale projects. What We Liked Effective Blasting Power: Despite its budget-friendly price and plastic build, the Gyfent Sand Gun Blaster provides sufficient blasting power for a variety of applications. It effectively removes rust, paint, and other unwanted coatings from metal, wood, and other surfaces. User-Friendly Operation: The gun is lightweight and easy to handle, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. The simple design and straightforward controls make it accessible even for those with limited sandblasting experience. Versatile Applications: This blaster can be used with a variety of abrasive media, including sand, aluminum oxide, glass beads, and walnut shells, allowing you to tackle a range of projects, from rust removal and paint stripping to surface preparation and glass etching. Affordable Price: The Gyfent Sand Gun Blaster is a budget-friendly option that makes sandblasting accessible to a wider audience. It's an excellent value for DIY enthusiasts and hobbyists who are looking to explore sandblasting without a significant investment. • Pros and cons, but generally good
I got this to do some quick and dirty cleanup of parts that I wanted to strip rust from or remove paint. And for that it works well; I really wish I had a bead blasting chamber but I can't spend the $$ or space to justify one of them for as infrequently as I use it. This spray gun is a nice substitute, with a small but acceptable hopper, wide material compatibility, and low cost. The kit helpfully includes safety goggles (yay - always scratching my set that I already have), pipe tape to help seal the fittings, a few nozzles, and helpful instructions. The feel of the gun is super cheap - this is not something you're going to expect to hold up to a construction site, body shop, or even a school/college lab. You have to take care of it - things like the long trigger on this are made from cheap plastic and wobble pretty good. That said, it's better than my previous home-built versions of sticking a siphon tube into a bag of baking soda and an air nozzle! It does work, seems to be reliable, and it's hard to argue with the low price. ... show more

  • Always wanted a sandblaster
So this blaster would have been ideal for me, but it has a few issues the media tank is a bit small that’s no big issue just have to fill it more often. Wish I had a blast cabinet but I don’t. The consumption of air states 7 SCFM don’t know what the optimal air pressure is for using but my compressor does 12 SCFM at 90PSI so I set it to 100PSI and the media was barely coming out??? Is there a specific media I need to use? Raised to 125PSI and it looked like I was shooting sprinkles to decorate a cake?? Horrible product functionality wise avoid at all costs you definitely don’t want this. Tried removing surface rust on plate steel that I was going to weld this thing wouldn’t even touch it from 6 inches away maybe I’m doing it wrong. Had to break out the grinder. 2 stars only because this is a great idea and I’d never seen one like this but that’s all. ... show more

  • Ideal for small, quick jobs.
This sand blasting gun from the Gyfent Store on Amazon is really for small jobs, or spot cleaning, and jobs that won't fit inside your blasting cabinet, if you have one. It arrived with two slightly different nozzles, both steel. Many blasting guns have ceramic inserts in the nozzles to increase their lifespan, these do not. The included airline fitting is a C-type Quick High pressure coupling, probably because the gun's working pressure is 90-150 psi. It's an unusual fitting for most home shops, I believe, the most popular being the Type T Automotive, and the Industrial, so you'll probably need to provide your own fitting. The recommended medias include different abrasives. One is Silicon Carbide (sand). If you decide to use silicon carbide or sand, please wear a respirator. Respirators are much cheaper than lung transplants, even with insurance. Repeated exposure to Silicon Carbide may result in Pneumoconiosis, or Silicosis. Nobody wants that. An inexpensive pair of goggles were included as well. Use them. Or better, a full face shield, or even better: a respirator. Do you really want to spend an afternoon flushing grit out of your eyes? Nuff said? ... show more

  • Works great
Been wanting one of these for ages to do small soda blasting jobs. This one fits the bill just fine. It feels a little cheap and I'm not sure if you can get new nozzles for it, but it does come with an extra nozzle. It also comes with an air fitting but it's not your standard air fitting. I use high flow fittings on my setup so I just put one of those on. It comes with goggles and gloves too. The instructions are simple and easy to understand too. I gave it a try with some sand on an old piece of metal I had laying around that I use for a lot of things. It worked great. Fast too. If you need to do small blasting jobs, this will work fine. If you're expecting a pro-grade tool, look elsewhere. This will work great for my uses. ... show more
