I purchased this light to use at my electronics workbench so my purpose is probably different than the intended uses. While this light is rated from 10 to 60 volts, it will only use 12 volts. It has an internal regulator that will keep the voltage at 12 volts no matter how many volts (up to 60) you feed it. At 12 volts, it consumes roughly 15 watts of power / 1.25 amps of current. As for the 60 watts of output / brightness... I have no way to measure it but I wouldn't consider it to be "overly bright" but it seems "acceptable". However, pulling 1.25 amps of current is notable since a 100W lightbulb consumes considerably less (at 0.83 W) than that with a 120V source. I would say this light is probably about the same brightness, or maybe a little less, than a 100W lightbulb. For $10, it is a good deal since it also comes with mounting hardware. I would end up using two of these for my purposes. ... show more
