The state of android tablets in 2022 is honestly embarrassing. While shopping around for an android tablet with decent screen resolution, and around the same size as the nexus 7, I found that this was my only option. The screen looks great, gets bright enough for me. Having a microSD and sim card tray is also a big plus. In terms of being a refurb, my tablet came with a dim backlight in the top right corner, which I'm willing to ignore. Also, the charging cable came broken, which also isn't a big deal to me as I have many extras. I'd be more negative if there were other options, but there are none in this price range. ... show more

Got this as Amazon renewed. Looks brand new as far as I can tell. Bought a otterbox case and ram mount mounting system for it. I use it in my work truck using my cell phone as a hot spot, for the gps and a screen to watch TV during down time. It's got 2 speakers which are great too. Glad I bought this. The media could not be loaded. Why do you sell with 32GB - and restrict how we use the SD card - so annoying - TRASH!!! This should be FREE99.. Device Physical Condition – 6/10 – nasty nicks, scratches, and used sensation, yea it is “recertified” but ugh lol. That being said, I couldn’t even enjoy it due to Samsung. They sell this with a 32GB ROM, and give the end user less than 18GB but they have micro SD card! Well, you can’t move apps to the SD card, and more importantly, your apps can’t access the SD card, for instance, my music app was unable to recognize the SD card was an available storage option, therefore making the device futile and a WASTE of my time. I spent over 3 hours installing 2 years worth of updates! Setting up my settings, apps, installing my car mount, and SIM, only for SAMSUNG to limit how we use OUR device and SD card – very dumb. To confirm it was the tablet – I have a Tab S8 with SD card and an LG Velvet with SD – both worked just fine, the app asked me did I want to save on internal or external – Unless you just want to browse the web – this is a waste of everything. I even tried numerous workarounds to no avail – Its so annoying when companies make unnecessary changes that only frustrate the customer – the irony – they SELL A MICRO SD CARD SLOT but restrict how you use it, and to add insult to injury the device is only giving you LESS than 18GB to store apps and files – D U M B ! I purchased this tablet for quick reads before bed and other light use. Battery life is very good, the screen is nice and sharp, and looks beautiful, but holy crap is this thing slow. Want to open an app, takes 5 seconds, want to switch between apps, it will completely stall, leaving you to think it may have just locked up. It is especially noticeable if you have another well performing tablet, or an up to date smart phone. I would recommend looking for something newer, and in a larger size to get decent performance. ... show more

I strictly wanted a substitute for a Kindle reader and to view videos on the airplane. For this the tablet is perfect. Love the size and weight. Obviously it is a couple generations older now and the processor is slow. So using it for lots of browsing or multitasking is obviously not equal to a 2024 model. I thought this tablet SIM was locked to TMobile because the item description didn't state it was unlocked and the tablet settings said it was locked, so I didn't even try my SIM card. T-Mobile wouldn't unlock it without being on their network for a significant time and $100 in charges. I contacted the seller and they said it was unlocked. I put my Google Fi SIM card in and it worked! It's a good mid range tablet with cell data capacity. I wish it had more internal storage and RAM because it can get sluggish sometimes. Luckily, Samsung memory management is decent and there's a widget to put on your home screen to clear the RAM easily when it does get sluggish. I'd recommend it if you weren't going to use it for significant gaming. ... show more
