The original case with the pen I was using prior to buying this one has a cover that would flip open to reveal the phone and stylus inside. This one doesn't have the cover, and in a sense I think I like the cover-less style better since its far easier to use the camera. The stylus surprisingly stays in the case securely, even without the cover. Sleek, durable feel and has not given me any problems as yet. I'd recommend the purchase :) ... show more

This essentially turns the Galaxy S21 Ultra into a Note with a pen storage area, while at the same time adding drop-protection. Handy, since the Note series seems discontinued. Doesn't add too much size or thickness to the phone; most obviously is on the side where the pen is stored, so the phone is a bit wider. I really like the smooth matte finish look and feel. I had a prior shiny clear case for this phone and it didn't look as good and felt "sticky." Also, the thickness on the back is thinner with this case I believe, which I think allows the wireless induction charging to work more efficiently. And I don't think a thicker back is of value on the S21 as I don't think the back is not glass like prior Galaxies. EDIT: Originally I rated this 5 starts and "Great" but I just downgraded it to "Good" and 4 stars. Reason: I recently dropped my phone on the hard asphalt of a parking lot. Not the first time I've dropped it somewhere and the case came to the rescue. However, this time it landed on the top right corner. Once again, it saved the phone! BUT -- the silicon corner of the case tore like a thin latex glove (it's only marginally thicker than one). Normally, having the case sacrifice itself would be acceptable, but not a price of $70. Given the price, it should be more durable. I just replaced it with a Spigen Liquid Air P, which doesn't come with a pen, but holds the pen that came with this case. ... show more

The case I replaced lasted a little over a year. I couldn't find one with the s pen sleeve without buying the pen again. I now have 4 S pens.

1) The S-Pen is much longer + wider than the Note Series pen. It ACTUALLY holds like a pen/pencil! This is a plus for me. 2) The case is made of soft silicone with a black matte finish. It's easier to hold, but after a while when the oils of your hands and fingers get transferred onto it, it slightly loses its grip. It is also a lint magnet. 3) The cut-outs (cameras, mic, speakers) are well-aligned. Power + Volume rockers are covered and tactile. However, the little piece surrounding the USB-C charging port is thin, and can get loose. It is prone to break at one point or another; or can get snagged and break off. Samsung needs to fix this and make that piece thicker and sturdier. (See photos) 4) The S21 Ultra is already large. This can makes it wider on the left hand side where it houses the S-Pen. If you're lefty it's easier for you to remove/insert the pen. But if you're a righty, you need to learn how to maneuver. The pen cannot be housed on the right for obvious reasons as the Power + Volume rockers are located there. 5) The case itself is light, so it'll only add a few mg/oz of weight. 6) It was being sold at around $70 USD before, but these days it can be had for $15 - $20 less (approx. $50) 7) If you're a previous/current Note Series user I think you'll like the larger-sized S-Pen, even with lesser features and lack (of course) Bluetooth capabilities. ... show more
