This is a decent gen4 drive but the cheaper gen4 Sabrent drive I bought is quite a bit faster which I found odd. It's still a good drive but it's a bit pricey for the performance and capacity. Thankfully I use this drive for Windows 10 and ONLY Windows 10. Everything else gets installed to other drives. For example my swap file, default folders (docs, downloads, pics etc) are on a regular HDD. My games are mostly on the Sabrent drive, at least the most demanding one's are. The rest are on a pcie Intel SSD and 4 SATA3 SSD's. I also use the gen3 version of this drive on my Xbox Series X. It is in an Asus ROG enclosure and is great for expanding storage for games that aren't required to be on internal storage or the official memory card. Despite the lower than expected speed I still highly recommend this drive. They are built to last. I've been using a gen3 version for a few years now and I constantly install and uninstall games on it. ... show more

Purchased the 250 GB variant as my boot drive and I must say, it's very fast. It runs a little hotter with PCIe x4 but I'm comfortable with it as it lingers around 52 C (My mobo is ITX and drive is directly above the x570 chipset). Overall this is a great drive and make sure you have the hardware that supports PCIe gen 4 so you can take advantage of the read and write speeds that this SSD has to offer. ... show more
