  • Edge-Lit Garbage. Step Backwards in Quality.
Size: 82-Inch Style: TV Only
I bought the 82” Q70T 2020 model to replace my defective 82” Q70R 2019 model that Samsung is issuing me a refund for. Never in my life would I have expected that a newer model of a Samsung TV would actually be of worse quality than than its predecessor, but, here we are. It is absolutely absurd that in 2020, a high-end manufacturer would switch from a full-array backlight system (Q70R) to an edge-lit backlight system (Q70T). It is intolerable how bad this looks, even when the room is lit. It occurred to me what happened when I went back and remembered the reason I paid $1,000 more to originally get the 2019 Q70R as opposed to the Q60R. The reason I chose the Q70R to begin with was because the Q70R series was the level at which the QLED sets have a full-array backlight. What Samsung has done with Q70T in 2020 is charge the same price for the Q70T as they did for the Q70R but for less TV, forcing the consumer to spend a A LOT more if they want a full-array backlight by upgrading to the Q80T. That’s shady, greedy and disappointing. The differences between what each TV (the Q70R and the Q70T) are so nominal as to he considered aesthetic. They’re primarily software changes. There is no reason to remove one of the most important features (and most costly features) to keep this identical model at the same price-point as the 2019 model. Other than the fact that you can’t watch it, the TV functions as it should. Unlike other purchasers, I had no software issues. I just scheduled a return for this and do not recommend that anyone purchase it. I have, instead, re-purchased the 2019 Q70R, because despite its defect of developing a black line across the the screen one inch from the top, it was a beautiful set that worked perfectly and had no issues with backlight bleed because of the full-array backlight. If you’re going to spend $2,500 - $3,000 on a TV, it should not look like this. ... show more

  • Got a lemon
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
Was so pumped to get a 65 in 7 series QLED TV......and a 2020 model to boot. Paired it with a Samsung Q7 series sound bar. First issue, the Samsung remote wouldn’t paint with an Arris TiVo model DCX900 cable box. Oh well so we couldn’t change the channels on the Samsung remote, no big deal. Second issue, couldn’t get the Sounbar in lip synch with folks on the TV. Spent an hour with Samsung on these items to no avail. Oh well, I hooked up an older Samsung sound-bar, it worked fine. Watched TV through the evening. Nice picture! Next morning, turned on the TV, no sound using the cable box as input. To make a very lengthy call with Samsung short, they first decided it was a software issue, but couldn’t explain why it worked they day before, then after more machinations decided the HDMI ports died.. Offered to send a repair tech, LOL, yeah right. Boxed up and sent back to Amazon with the call number as reference. Very disappointed with Samsung. ... show more

  • Disappointed for a $1,297price tag
Size: 65-Inch Style: TV Only
It's not possible that we live in 2020 and a company releases a product that freezes constantly and has a lot of bugs. I love samsung but this is unacceptable. The TV freezes each time you exit the player in netflix and disney plus. Also sometimes when you play hdr content the screen goes black. I hope an update fixes this soon. Again this was a It also says its google play compatible but the amount of commands is very limited just to turn on/off change channel and volume. Kinda disappointed for a $1,500 price tag ... show more

  • BUY THIS. SERIOUSLY ITS INCREDIBLE!!!
Size: 55-Inch Style: TV Only
This tv is awesome. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews because every new model of electronics will have issues. QLED color spectrum: just incredible. It makes every color simply pop! I was watching ER from 1994 and man, a show that’s 15 years old looks like it was filmed only a couple months ago. Remember if you’re going to watch a disc, you’ll need a 4K/UHD Blu-ray player to get the most out of your tv. Software: remember when to download the most recent update from Samsung to your tv. It’s just like an iPhone, if you don’t update it may run slow or buggy. One thing I also did was uninstall then reinstall the apps so they were up to date. Worst case, because your tv is an actual computer, if it freezes (which mine has a couple of times), just press/hold the power button on the remote and it’ll reboot your tv. If you just press the power button with no hold, it more or less puts the tv in standby. Edgelit vs Backlit: I was a little worried when I saw the bleeding on a couple of screens due to edge lighting vs back lighting, but honestly I think those customers just got a lemon. It happens. Nothing anyone can do about it. I have no bleeding on my screen and the picture is absolutely stunning when viewing a 4K Blu-ray movie. Remote: the remote is universal for all Samsung products connected to the tv. As soon as I turned the tv on the sound bar and 4K Blu-ray player were immediately recognized and everything seemed to sync up. So awesome and time saving. Ambient Mode: I haven’t really played with this too much. I mean I could have my tv on with cool pictures, but I honestly don’t care. When I’m done watching I just turn it off. Overall I think this is an amazing find. The only thing I wish it had were more HDMI ports. 5 or 6 should be the new standard. Anyway, buy this tv, you honestly won’t regret it!!! ... show more
