These are very pretty and they are well made. But the handle is too small and it's hard to hold onto and crank on it hurts my fingers. And it has a very small hole to fill it. The top does not come off for loading. It only has a small slide to fill it. And the base is not easy to get off to get the ground salt out. The salt went everywhere when I was finally able to get it off. But with that said it is very pretty and made heavy. So if you are looking for something that is pretty. This is it. If you want to grind salt and pepper then this is not a good choice. And herb would only get stuck ... show more

These are lovely, but horrible construction. The opening to put the peppercorns in wouldn't open and close. The grinder arm barely turned. The space for peppercorns was tiny. On top of all that, they are coated in some sort of stinky oil such that I had to wash my hands after touching them -- I can't imagine putting spices in them even after a washing. I would gladly buy a more expensive version of these that was bigger and heavier, but sadly these are just junk. ... show more

I really wanted to like these grinders, as they are so unique. However, I was disappointed for several reasons. First, they are difficult to grind. The handle is small, and the top often slides open, causing spices to pop out while grinding. More importantly, while the seller advertising in the listing "ADJUSTABLE - You can adjust pepper grinders size with the screws on top" this is simply untrue. As a result, the standard grind size is really too large for pepper, which is what I wanted to use it for. Finally, the grinders are also smaller in person than I anticipated from the photo. This did not bother me, but is something one might want to be aware of when ordering—make sure to look at the measurements before buying. EDIT: the seller contacted me and updated the description to remove the comment about it being adjustable, as such, I have updated the review to match the description; overall it is a nice product just a little smaller/ difficult to grind than ideal, but if you are okay with that you will enjoy them. ... show more

Cute set but I thought they would be bigger! The large piece is about three inches tall! Will keep them because not worth sending back. But very disappointing!
