Don’t bother with any other pain patch. These are excellent. I have shoulder pain every now and then and I put one on at night. When I wake up in the morning the pain is gone. They do have a strong smell - medicinal - but they heat up and start working almost immediately. I don’t buy anything else.

My Orthopedic PA suggested that I use Salonpas cream for my leg pain. It worked very well so when I saw the patches I decided to try them. Excellent decision! I use them on my knee and shoulder. Pain no longer wakes me at night. The only reason that I gave it a four is because the patches don't always stick very well. I make certain that I have extras so I don't run out. This salonpas really improved my stiff neck from neck and shoulder pain. It only works for 6hours I guess. Not for12hours . I had to change every 6hours for Best result

My wife’s shoulders hover between really sore and terrible. She get regular massages to ease the discomfort, but really regularly in a bad spot during the holidays. At wits end, I ordered Salonpas and Icyhot patches. These patches for pain are as good as prescription. As soon as you apply to your skin you can feel the patch start working. The price is good too. The prescription kind, while very good, are like trying to nail Jello to the wall when applying. These Salon Pas patches are easier to handle and have a nice smell also. ... show more

I’m not sure of the purpose of this thing but my grandmother totally loves it. She’ll have 3 on her body at once and she says it helps her joint and muscle pains. So I guess it’s good for pain relief in the muscles and joints.
