  • good replacement laces for Saucony Peregrine 12 ST
I am using these as replacement laces for a pair of Saucony Peregrine 12 STs. They were exactly what I needed. The yellow color was even a reasonable match for the yellow-green laces I was replacing once they got a little dirty :) Durability: They are much more durable than the Saucony laces (which started noticeably fraying after just 1 week) and the closure mechanism is similar (just as good, if not better). Price: They are a bit pricey compared to normal laces but they are long enough that I could cut them in half, so from my perspective it's actually 2 replacements for this price. Installation: I looked up a video from Salomon. I used a heat gun to treat the cut ends prior to installation. The only part that was difficult was closing the end cap that connected the 2 ends of each lace together. ... show more

  • Easy to install not the same plastic quality as the OEM but appear to hold & work as claimed - slick upgrade to any running shoe
Ok people, these are SO easy to install. No directions included BUT you have to be sufficiently dense to not be able to figure it out IMHO. Very easy maybe 15 minutes for the pair in my case. And, on first blush test, they work - that is, they snug down and hold tight. They are NOT the same quality as the ones that come preinstalled on Salomon shoes so be aware of this - they are a bit cheaper quality plastic materials, but the line seems the same quality. They are certainly less quality, but should work great. Now, HERE IS A TIP from me, you heard (read) it here first. BEFORE you lace up put a small o-ring on the laces so that when you lace up this o-ring will be at the very center of the first 2 eyelets at the bottom (toe) end of your shoe. Why you ask? Because, this will give you the perfect way to then secure the pull tab so it does not flop around. Since many of us put these on shoes other than Salomon - I put them on some Inov8 X-Talons - said shoes do not come with the little pocket in the tongue to stuff the pull tab. So, the o-ring acts as a place to secure the pull tab when the laces are tight so no bouncing pull tab. Genius, right? See my photo to see what I mean. UPDATE: so I have now done 5 races in these: 4 tough shoe beating obstacle course races (descending, climbing, wet, mud) and 1 trail race (tons of descending and climbing) and I can conclusively say that these work awesome! NO slippage in tension, NO stretching out over time, plastic has held with no issues. So far. UPDATE 2: 3 more obstacle course races down and NO issue. They do not loosen and they hold firm in every condition thus far. ... show more

  • Work surprisingly well even on my Shimano Cycling Shoes!
I needed replacement speed laces for my Shimano MT44 cycling shoes and theirs were ridiculously expensive and hard to find, so I took a chance on these instead. They work fantastic! My two complaints are: 1) The final step of mending the lace ends together with a barrel clasp didn't work so I just threw it out and tied a square knot that seems to be doing just fine. 2) If companies aren't willing to invest in decent printed instructions, they should just provide a link to better instructions on their web site or a video (even better). The quality of the instructions were poor. ... show more

  • Brought my Techamphibians back to life.
These installed quickly, and without any fuss. I read reviews about how difficult it was to get the laces into the eyelets, but I guess my shoes must be easier to lace because I had no problems at all. It took the same amount of time as replacing any laces that I have done in the past. After I cut the loops off of the ends I used a lighter to melt the ends, and pinched the soft plastic to make a sort of point. This made it very easy to thread it through even the very small plastic molded eyelets. The mechanism has changed, and it makes it much less fiddly to get this together. There aren't 3 pieces that you have to assemble in the locking mechanism anymore. For these you just push the string through, and that's it. These laces are a bit pricey, but much cheaper than new shoes. ... show more

  • Conflicted.
The product is fine, but it does not come with instructions. I linked to the video i used in a previous review but Amazon says I can't because that's "monetized" so search youtube "salomon quicklace kit instructions". The videos are like 7 minutes long and contain about 20 steps. It's not an easy process, but again, the product is fine. ... show more

  • 11 pieces of plastic and 2 laces. No directions.
First of all. I bought these to replace ones that broke after wearing the shoes about 20 times. Second, $14.00 for a pair of shoelaces? Third, 11 pieces of plastic, 2 laces and NO DIRECTIONS. For $14.00 I would expect some directions. I needed to search the internet for directions. Found out I needed to cut off the loops (why were they there in the first place?). Then I had to take a match and burn the ends of the laces to make them sturdy enough to fit through the small channels on the shoes (why wasn't this done in the manufacturing process?) If I could I would return the shoes and the laces and buy something better. Last pair of Salomons for me. ... show more

  • Exactly are you’d expect.
These are great. Minimal instructions come with these but one YouTube video and I had these replaced in no time. Be sure to leave enough slack on top. I did not and now mine are difficult to get on and off. That’s all on me though.
