  • Very sturdy and will hold measurements well
This thin rip jig is very well made and impressively constructed out of thick aluminum billet. It will not bend or warp and has a nicely machined tenon locking mechanism so the slider guide will not deviate or move once it is locked in. Two things I really liked about this jig compared to some others I've seen is: 1) the double bearing tip which gives the tip more surface area for the stock to roll against, both in area and in vertical height. 2) the mount has 3 screwholes on each side in which to place the T-bolts so I could move the mounting block laterally closer or further away from the blade. This allows you to place the sliding bar against the blade to get my "zero" reference and then move the mounting plate so that the zero reference on the mounting plate can line up to a more easily read hash mark on the scale of the sliding bar. Scales are in imperial or metric. Both scale rules are accurate when checked against my reference rulers. Imperial scale comes in 1/16th" so that is acceptable, although I would have liked a 1/32" scale so that I could rip strips that match the undersize plywood thickness dimensions that come from big box hardware stores. The T-track blocks locked in well once the star nut were tightened. The blocks are a bit undersized in height so this results in a slight gap between the T-track blocks and the mounting plate when everything is tightened down. This is fine for most situations and actually helps to ensure a tight lockdown. Some other thin rip jigs have their mounting plate screw holes too close to the left side so using the screws in those positions can lead to a slight tilt of the mounting block because it can fall into the miter slot. Saker, to their credit, has made their mounting plate wide enough so even if the left-most screw hole is used, the mounting plate will still straddle the miter slot. Even though I had some minor nits that may have improved this jig, I liked it a lot and how well it is made. Any improvements that I talk about may increase the cost so at this price point, I'm willing to give it a 5 star rating. ... show more

  • Great Jig!
This is a really well made jig. I do a lot of smaller craft woodworking, boxes, cutting boards, pens, etc. Because of this, I often use very slim pieces of wood....particularly for cutting boards. These narrow strips can be really challenging and dangerous on my full size table saw. This allows me to do them very quickly. The improvements on my cutting boards has been tremendous. I can now quickly and easily make the prgressively more narrow cuts with ease, which is a common design feature of my maple/walnut cutting boards. Any accent wood becomes simple with this jig. It fits very firmly and snug in the miter slot & facilitates smooth and true cuts. It has additional feet for other types of miter grooves as well. The measurements printed on, both in metric and imperial, seem very accurate, but I usually measure distance manually to be safe. The bearing has good height as well, allowing taller pieces to be cut accurately. There are also multiple holes for the bolts, allowing you to line up right against the saw blade and get a zero, to then easily line up with your reference. This jig makes me want to dance a jig. ... show more

  • Neat Little Ripping Jig, Wide Bearing Surface, Would have benefitted from more slot adapters
I really like Saker brand products, so I was disappointed to discover that I was not able to use this with my cast-iron Ridgid Table Saw, nor my Portable Dewalt table saw. The slot adapters do not fit. They only would have needed to supply a different adapter to allow this, and eventually I will probably fashion my own adapters to fit the slot in both of my saws. I will say I like the tool-free adjustment knobs, they are comfortable to use and pretty easy to snug down. I also like the double bearing surface on the end, it is superior to those with a single bearing because softwoods are less likely to mash into the bearing and effect the width of your cut. This does not come with instructions, but In compatible table saws, this tool easily allows for repeatable rips, in a safe fashion. You set the depth on the jig, bump your work piece to the bearing, then position your fence against your work piece, and make your rip cut. Then bump the remainder of the work piece to the bearing, readjust your fence, and repeat in that fashion. My final take on this jig, I like the double bearing surface, it's quick and easy to make safe rips, just be sure your table saw has the specified track/slots to be compatible with the jig before ordering. ... show more

  • Fantastic Quality For The Price, Perfectly Fits My Dewalt Jobsite Table Saw
I had previously ordered a similar thin rip jig sold under a different brand here on Amazon. Although very similar in design that jig was a major disappointment. The mounting options didn't properly fit my Dewalt jobsite table saw, so Ineeded to MacGyver custom shims to get the mounting to hold adequately. Also, the overall build quality of that jig, which had a similar price tag to this Saker, was below what I've come to expect in the modern era of generally very well made CNC'ed shop tools sourced in China. That thin rip jig has now been retired, since this one by Saker solves all the issues I had with that first jig. The build quality is very good, just a hair shy of excellent, and the clamping mechanism works perfectly with the T-tracks on my Dewaly jobsite table saw. The CNC machined main body of the tool is very cleanly and precisely machined. The markings are very easy to read, but they are painted on, not embossed or etched, so there's a possibility they'll rub off over time. The markings are very sharp and easy to read now though. The large knobs for tightening the mounting points are comfortable and work very well. The brass adjustment knob is an unexpectedly nice touch and the roller bearing at the front turns smoothly with no perceptible slop. I'm sure there are higher quality professional grade thin rip jigs out there for considerably more money, but this Saker jig is a well designed, very functional tool at an extremely reasonable price. ... show more
