  • Great Entry Level Kit
Style: Hole Bundle
Let's be upfront on what I do, I have been a hobbyist and DIY woodworker for many years. As such, I have to be careful in my tool purchases to get only products that do the task I am working on, and generally my tools have lasted and performed great for the purpose I bought them. I decided to finally try working with pocket holes on some of my projects and decided on this Milescraft kit. What first caught my attention was the fact that the screws were fitted with torx heads, my preferred type of screws. Secondly, reviews were good for the amount of use I envisioned for the kit, and the price seemed fair. My first project was to build myself a new workbench using pocket holes, and I was surprised at how quickly the assembly went together. Fit and finish was all good and I can see me using this kit for many years. If you are a weekend hobbyist and DIY woodworker, I would recommend this kit for an introduction to using pocket holes in your projects. Yes, there are more expensive products out there with a broad line up of kits, but this one is working well for me and clearly it is value priced. ... show more

  • Love this! More affordable than other Pockethole jigs!
Style: Hole Bundle
I have not tried the Kreg Pocket Hole jig because it is so pricey, but I have made multiple projects with this one and it works great! It does everything that it was intended to do. I may have to adjust a few things because for some reason the screw that I use tends to pop out a little on the other side if I tighten it too much. Still overall a great pocket hole jig for the price. ... show more

  • Great pocket jig for a whole lot less...
Style: Hole Bundle
Had great success with this jig. Easy to use, decent carrying case, and a lot cheaper than a Kreg, it even comes with the vice grip clamp to hold it in place. A few minor cons though, the depth setting has detents to hold it in place set at specific wood thicknesses that works great, but if you have a piece of wood that is not standard thickness(1 1/2",1",3/4",or 1/2") there is no detent and the device will not sit flat. I had some pieces that were 1 1/4" thick for example, and i either had to set it up as if the piece was 1 1/2" thick, 1" thick or guess somewhere in the middle and have the jig unstable and dent the wood when i clamped it. If I had chosen the 1 1/2" or 1" setting I ran the risk of penetrating through the back of the piece I am drilling through, a penetration of the screw at a less than ideal junction point between the pieces, and having too much or too little of the screw threads holding the pieces together. My second con has to do with the case, it is difficult to get the clamp in the case and get it to close and if you want to store some screws in it, it is difficult to close. And lastly the clamp will only clamp up to a 2" piece. Not a real big deal but if you are trying to clamp the piece you are drilling in to a surface like a table to keep everything from moving around you can't. I know, it sounds like I have a lot of cons but they are actually quite minor to me I just think it is best for those looking to know what to expect. ... show more

  • Great kit, clamp is so-so
Style: Hole Bundle
Can't beat it for the price. Follow the instructions and you'll get good pocket holes. Bit causes some tear out if you go too fast, and the clamp is pretty cheap, but they work just fine.

  • Great product with a crappy case.
Style: Hole Bundle
As a pocket hole jig its pretty nice. The material is great (not just standard cheap plastic, seems to be glass reinforced plastic). I like the various features it has such as the spring-loaded adjustment button, the easy rotating bar that allows it to be a blind hole, or butted up against the end of a board. Etc. However the case kinda sucks. It holds the stuff on top pretty well (could be better, but it works), but the way the top layer pulls out is akward, and storing the screws and such underneath is just a straight pain in the butt due to the way it folds down in. You have to manipulate the screws and such as you close it up. Its also very flimsy cheap plastic. It works, and I'll use it, just disappointed. ... show more
