Lights up the room nicely for midnight snack runs. The lowest light setting is the first too so you don't blind yourself. The picture is with the included LED bulb which gives off a decently warm color. For the price, pretty good!

The media could not be loaded. Having purchased a similar lamp, with white shade, last year - - - I was most happy to see that this new version, with black shade, being offered on Amazon. In the photos, I show the two lamps side by side and the black lamp (this new version) off, dim, mid, bright plus a video cycling through the settings. As the two lamps are identical, except for the shades, I will quote from my review (March 11, 2021) of the original version: <<< This lamp seems to have everything! Decent light, touch dimming, two 120V outlets and two USB power ports. Great not to have to search for a power switch, pull cord or rotary dimmer. Simply touch the base and you are good to go! Instructions on the box need to be updated, but use is very intuitive! Kudos to the design team!>>> Now that they offer both black and white, you get to choose the one that best fits your décor. In my home, I have four Sailstar lamps! The two touch control bedside lamps, a simple pull chain bedside lamp and a touch control desk lamp with pen holder. It is a nice light that works great. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again. I like the fact it is a touch lamp and when you touch it it goes from low to med to high. I will light up a bedroom nicely. I use it at night if I get up and need a drink of water or anything else. It is so much easier to use than one you haft to find the switch and than turn it on. ... show more

I really like the color of these lamps, the fact that they have USB plugs is very convenient and no cord to turn them on is nice because they can be tempting to my cats, and to be honest, just tapping it to turn on is a nice upgrade. My only complaint is the color or brightness of the bulb. It seems to be blinding if you look at the bulb(yes I know, but it was the first thing my nephew did) but doesn't seem to be the brightest. The media could not be loaded. The shade wouldn’t attach to the base! I mean it’s not rocket science. The screw is the wrong size or who knows. All I know is it’s the most simple thing to do. The simply wouldn’t screw in!! Super disappointed bc I liked the look. Just like the pictures. Don’t buy it. It’s cheaply made probably in some sweat shop in China. Zero quality control. I’m embarrassed to say I spent a 1/2hr on both lights I ordered. Tried swapping them and nope. No way to keep the shade attached. I’ve got 99 problems but this ain’t one bc it’s already gone and refunded haha UPDATE: the manufacturer contacted me and sent me a replacement set at no cost. They work perfectly. I think I just got a part of a bad batch or it was just defective. The new one screwed right in. I have one under my dad’s memorial picture with an rgbic light in it. It illuminates it perfectly.
