Rod & reel arrives with backing, line & leader installed. It is an OK outfit. I have better Reddington outfits. I guess you need to pay more to get a really good quality Sage rod. It casts fine and I will use it but I could have gotten an equal Reddington for half the price. It is mostly made in the USA and I like that. You have been warned…..Sage has terrible customer service. If you buy this rod…use it on water and don’t like it…tough luck….you can’t return it. I own three sage rods but will never buy another one cause they don’t care about customer loyalty or customer satisfaction. If I can’t try the rod on water how am I supposed to know if I like how it cast. You’re making a $1,000 gamble….good luck Sage….you lost my business ... show more
