  • A godsend when you need it!
Color: 0.75A/1.25A
This is my first experience using a trickle charger, though I knew them to be useful for friends. Upon opening the package (4th pic), I questioned to myself if this little device with light plastic clips would work when I needed it and that thought is based on never having held or handled a trickle charger myself. While traveling 500 miles from home I realized that I forgot the battery pack with jumping capability that I normally keep in my car (I left it at home charging). I got in my car one morning while on the road and saw that the date on my car was wrong, which is usually a sign that my car battery is glitching (during a recent state inspection, I was informed that the screws on my terminal were loose). I searched for a battery charger and ordered it immediately "just in case". The reason for this trip was to pick up my father from a spine rehab facility post-surgery and during the 30 days he was away recovering, I discovered that his car battery was dead. I thought it might take some time for me to have a need to use this charger and now I needed it immediately (which I was happy about because this review would be different if I didn't have an occasion to use the item). I was leaving my dad in two days and because there wasn't an accessible plug in his parking lot to charge his battery while in the car, I removed his battery from his car and brought it up to his place to charge. Here's how it went... 1st pic-Monday 9:53pm One solid light (of 4) 2nd pic-Tuesday 1:34pm Two solid lights (3rd blinking) 3rd pic-Wednesday 8:12am Three solid lights (4th blinking) Important to note that I took pics when I saw the solid lights and do not know precisely when they turned solid. I was leaving my dad's on Wednesday afternoon traveling 500 miles back home and couldn't wait for the 4th light to be solid so I was hoping that 3 solid lights would get the car started. I reinstalled the battery on Wednesday afternoon around noon (still 3 solid lights) and the car started right up! I was pretty sure 3 solid lights were enough when I connected the terminals and the car alarm started sounding and was very relieved that it worked beautifully as I had no other available options in that moment if it didn't work. I HIGHLY recommend this charger! It is now in the back of my own car in the necessities bag (along with a flashlight, fire extinguisher, tools, etc) and I have total comfort in knowing how to use it and that it works (!!) when I need it. ... show more

  • Nice little charger for the money. Wish it came with quick disconnects.
Color: 0.75A/1.25A
This is a perfect charger to use for maintaining the charge on a battery in a seldom driven car, ATV's, motorcycles, lawn tractors, etc. I tried this charger for my car, which has an older battery that's now in the process of failing, and this charger was able to recharge it in about 16 hours. While this is not the intended purpose of a charger like this, it was still able to recharge my car battery. With any battery charger I buy, I always verify with a voltmeter the voltage level at which the charger shuts off. I verified with this one that it shut off at 14.4 volts as it should. I now do this as I had a bad experience with a very cheap $5 Harbor Freight battery maintainer that killed a battery in my ATV. It turned out it was charging well past 18 volts! My only real complaint is it doesn't come with quick disconnect leads which for a charger that's designed to keep batteries maintained is a big omission. ... show more

  • Shows percentage charged, plugs into outlet for power source
Color: 0.75A/1.25A
One of the things I hate the most is waking up and finding a dead battery on freezing, icy days. I ordered this item because I was looking for a good solution to this problem, and the charger works great. We plugged it into the wall, checked the settings, and set it to charge my car battery. It immediately gave us the percentage charged and went to work. It’s a good safety item to have around. My only concern was portability. It’s small and easy to keep in the car, but it is dependent on an outlet to transmit the charge. This isn’t an issue if you have an outlet in your home you can use or a generator in case of emergencies. I’m not sure how it would work if we were stranded on the mountain without another power source (but I’m sure we’ll figure something out…). Overall, the price is great, it works, and it adds security on those days a cold snaps drains the car battery. ... show more

  • Basic charger, but there are others with more features.
Color: 0.75A/1.25A
I have a lot of power equipment: motorcycles, trailers, yard equipment, vintage autos - so I need chargers. I was a little disappointed the cord didnt have the quick connect for the battery tenders on the motorcycle batteries. This is a cord with battery post clips only. The power meter will give reading of 25, 50, 75, and 100% charged. However, you don't know if 100% is 12v, 12.7, 13.1v or other. As a basic charger, I think the unit is fine, but as a maintainer I am more satisfied with other units I have. ... show more

  • Very nice - an essential in any garage!
Color: 0.75A/1.25A
This is a great little battery charger - it is more like what we old guys used to call a "Battery Tender" - a very "low and slow" charger that was intended to keep a battery healthy. It will not do a "fast charge" by any stretch - but it does a desulfation routine that makes it very valuable and will maintain a very low rate of charge that nicely counters the self-discharge of most lead-acid batteries, keeping them healthy. If you have a motorcycle parked for the winter, or an RV used infrequently, or any other lead-acid battery that is not exercised regularly, this one is for you! ... show more

  • nice little charger
Color: 0.75A/1.25A
For the price this is a pretty nice little charger. This is just the right size to charge and top off small powersports batteries, the .75a setting is perfect to top off small motorcycle batteries. It seems well built and the cables are reasonably heavy for this size charger and the battery clips are pretty sturdy. The hanger hook folds back into the charger for storage so it won't get broken. It has bright green indicator lights that tell you what rate it's charging .75a or 1.25a and how much charge the battery has 25% 50% 75% 100% they all flash together when full. ... show more

  • Simple to use, will charge a small or large battery.
Color: 0.75A/1.25A
I recently bought a riding mower and wanted a trickle charger to maintain the battery while not in use. I saw this and wanted to give it a try. It seems simple to use and can charge a standard lead acid or an AGM battery. it also can charge at .75A or 1.25A. It seems to work good and like that the charger has a hook to keep off the ground. This is great to have if you want to keep your battery in good health. I would recommend. ... show more
