After reading the other comments on the colors - and all the Safavieh pics are from their website - I was smart and ordered the smallest size, figuring I could use a 2' x 3' rug in lots of places around the house. I liked the colors, and boy, they sure are different than the pics - so I ordered the blue and ivory carpet in the largest size. It was delivered sooner than expected, and rolled up nicely with no folds or creases. I also bought a good quality carpet pad that was recommended by my friend who is a "carpet guy". It's thick and soft, and the patterns and colors are beautiful. The blue is a faded denim blue, and the ivory is a sandy color. The other colors are dark chocolate brown outlines, many shades of tan/gold, a bit of rust and a pretty rosy terracotta / peach tone. Also the big rug has a motif in the center that is grey - something that was not in the smaller rug. I wouldn't say the colors are faded or muted, as some other buyers have stated, but certainly not as vivid as the pictures online. My big rug (9'6" x 13'6") was over 100 lbs. delivered, so I would highly suggest you buy a little rug as a "sample" first, if it's convenient for you. Hopefully my pic will give you some idea of how different it really is - I have the little rug next to the big one. There is a mild "new" smell - like a new car, but not strong or toxic. (And I am "Miss Sensitive Nose" !) If you've ever had new wall-to-wall carpeting installed, that has an odor when it's new too. I'm sure it will dissipate with time, as will the shedding. Yes, any new carpet or rug will shed a lot. I vacuumed this rug twice - one way, then the other way, before putting my furniture back in the room. Love this beautiful rug! I bought the blue/ivory rug in 3 sizes, but the color variations from rug to rug are noticeable. Lucky for me, they are far enough apart that no one will notice. The 2’x3’ was the first I ordered to see if I liked the colors, and it’s my favorite of the three. The blue is slightly grayer than the others, which I prefer. It is the most similar to the 9’x12’ though. I also bought a 4’x6’, which I returned and re-purchased to see if maybe I got a bad one. That was not the case - the re-purchased rug was the same. The 4’x6’ is a darker blue and a darker ivory, almost beige. I have included pictures, but it is difficult to tell the differences for some reason via photograph vs. in person. Regardless, they are beautiful rugs. Just be aware of the color variation from size to size. ... show more

I want to "Thank" the other customers who posted a review and mentioned that the colors are different from the picture ... it's not ivory (even though that's how it looks online), but a brownish beige coloring along the border. The colors are exactly what I was looking for - it's for my mud room. I almost passed on buying until I read the reviews since I didn't want Ivory; would have been too light. And the blue is much darker than what's shown in picture. It's a gorgeous rug if u like those colors. I'll try to take a picture and post it :) - And the burgundy color is blended with a deep purple ... show more

I always read product reviews but rarely ever write one, but this beauty deserves top of the line reporting! Packaging was excellent and it got better from there! We purchased the 9 x 13 rug so it took my husband an I both to move, unroll and position correctly on the rug pad. Even after all the moving around there wasn’t much ‘shedding’ and zero creases. The colors are soft but not faded and the plushness of the rug is perfect. I was nervous to purchase a rug online sight unseen since website pictures can be misleading. I promise that is not the case for this rug. I am highly pleased with this purchase. I would give more stars if offered!!! ... show more

    • This is not a quality product
This rug arrived 9 months ago. It is indeed beautiful and well padded. I even placed a second order and gifted it to a family member. However, 9 months later it is still shedding like crazy. My whole intent was to have something natural to sit on. With all the shedding, I can never sit on this rug without first considering how it's going to bind to my clothing and get all over the house. I watch as children roll on it and short balls of hair gets everywhere. Even the sweeper type vacuums get filled with each vacuum. This is not a quality product! ... show more

I was very hesitant to buy an area rug online since the image was so small and the colors were not certain. But I did and am so pleased! The colors are much more vivid and beautiful. I did opt for a larger size than I had thought necessary and I would advise that for others. I would give 5 stars if the rug didn't shed so much - it leaves fuzz balls - you just have to vacuum it every couple of weeks. Still an awesome rug! UPDATE: Glad to report that the fuzz has long disappeared! Seems that it was only for a few weeks just after it arrived and now has ceased. It has proved to be a beautiful, quality rug and we just love it! Highly recommend it. I am updating my rating to 5 stars! ... show more

Size: 9 ft 6 in x 13 ft 6 in Color: Ivory
I had ordered this rug from another supplier and it was too small for my space, so I checked the price on Amazon and it was cheaper, so I ordered a larger size from here! The rug is perfect for my space and the colors are muted just a little bit which is what I wanted. The only problem I could find was that it shedded like crazy the first month or two -- there were always these little hairs on the floor on all sides of the rug. The shedding seems to have stopped now, except when we vacuum there is always lots of stuff that comes off the rug. All in all, it was a great deal and a great value. ... show more

Love the color and thickness, but like other reviews this rug sheds!! I am going to give it 2 weeks to see, and hopefully it will stop! Months later, I am adjusting my review. Not only had the shedding not stopped, the pilling is much worse. I would not recommend this rug st all. We only use our dining room once or twice a month so high-traffic is not to blame!! ... show more
