Description

The 6360 ALS /SLS Level III Retention duty holsters are sturdy, lightweight, and provide an extra measure of security while on patrol. The ALS (Automatic Locking System) builds on the foundation of the SLS (Self Locking System) to offer Level III Retention. The SLS rotating hood closure allows for a smoother, single-motion draw, and greater protection against attempted weapon takeaways. Simply depress the hood and push forward to release. The ALS system automatically secures the weapon once holstered, and keeps it that way until released via the thumb lever. The release is achieved in an intuitive motion as the weapon is drawn.

  • As advertised
Color: STX Tactical Black Size: Glock 17, 22, 31 W/ TLR-1HL or Similar Light
I have: Glock 17 Gen 5 w/ TLR-8 I ordered: Glock 17 w/ TLR-1 model WORKS GREAT, GEN 5 FITS AND ITEM WAS BRAND NEW. I have never left a review on Amazon but this one deserves it due to the importance of the product being described correctly. I needed a solid level 3 holster for security/police work, and safariland website takes a month or two to receive it. I happened to check Amazon and was surprised to find this listing for $40 less and delivered the SAME DAY. The tlr-8 does fit in the tlr-1 model. I was also worried because some people were saying it didn't fit their gen 5 or they got a used one. I got a brand new one and it fits the gen 5 perfectly. I definitely recommend this for anyone needing this specific combination of holster! I cannot attest to the other nodels/combinations but item was exactly as described. ... show more

  • The best!
Color: STX Tactical Black Size: Glock 17, 22, 31 W/ TLR-1HL or Similar Light
This is the best holster period! 30 years experience and I would choose anything else! My department doesn't issue these but we all carry them so do the math. This holster has many positives the biggest being it will buy you time if you find yourself on your back and a suspect is trying to remove your firearm. You don't want your family getting that call that your life ended with your own firearm. We put our lives on the line everyday, this holster is a trusty companion! How much is your life worth? $145 is a cheap investment compared to the newest phone everyone has to have. Don't be cheap, don't be a fool, don't watch YouTube and decide on some gimmick holster! This is the one, It can be a little cumbersome but it's well worth the price of admission!! ... show more

  • Safe
Color: STX Tactical Black Size: Glock 34, 35
I've been using a 6360 for a few years because it's simply a safer option. Prior to the Safariland, I used two Blackhawk holsters, the Serpa and the Epoch. Both are good holsters in my opinion, but the 6360 is a lot better. The Serpa's button is operated with my trigger finger, and though I've never had a problem indexing a pistol safely with a Serpa, there's no question this is not a safe plan, and under stress there's a potential for real problems. The Epoch is better, there's simply a really deep button for the thumb to press. It's safe but the button is an awkwardly long push. The Safariland uses a somewhat more complex movement to unlock, but it feels very natural. The thumb does two movements, one for the hood and one for the internal mechanism, and then it's naturally on the weapon. The trigger finger has nothing to do with it and will naturally be in the right place even in stressful situations. The hood has that flap wing thing over it, which doesn't interfere with my operation, but would make it really tricky for someone who isn't wearing the holster to operate. I've seen guys remove that part, and they shouldn't. After a bit of practice, I found this holster easier to operate than the Epoch despite both using the same finger. There are a few others really important points: I can completely disassemble this holster. All the retention stuff is simple to understand, and you can take it apart to clean it, and even somewhat adjust it. This is not the case with other Level 3 holsters. Also, you can get a little pad to go between the holster and your leg. This makes the holster more comfortable and also safer if you were to fall the wrong way. And you can easily change the height of the holster. I have longer arms so I have the 'low-ride'. This is for a Glock 34 without a light and without an optic. Just iron sights. It's critical to know that the model holster I have works perfectly for my Gen 4, but would not work with a Gen 5. Safariland is reportedly making holsters for the new Gen 5 (it has slide stops on both sides so it just doesn't fit in this holster), but be careful about that issue. My Glock 17 and my Glock 22 also fit in this Glock 34 holster without any trouble at all (obviously a 34 will not fit in the shorter holsters though). There's no shaking, no retention, so safety problems... just an extra inch at the end of the barrel. I have always noticed the basketweave holsters get torn up more quickly than the plain black. Plain black looks more professional in the long run. ... show more

  • Awesome holster, great balance between speed, security and quality.
Color: STX Tactical Black Size: Glock 19, 23, 32
I bought this as my duty holster for my gen 4 Glock 19. The action to remove the SLS and ALS retention is VERY natural feeling. As you come down on the hood, you almost naturally push it forward to disengage (so that feels like one step, not two) and then as you bring your thumb back to establish your grip, the ALS button gets released almost second nature. I do find that the Serpa 3 draw is a little faster being that you can essentially release both retentions at the same time, but this holster just feels very smooth in the draw even if it is a few milliseconds slower. During qualifying, I noticed that a lot of other guys with rock out holsters were able to get their guns out faster than me (someone well practiced with a rock-out can draw seriously fast), however I seemed to be getting my shots off on target faster. I think this possibly could be due to the fact that the smooth, natural feeling draw of the holster allows you to establish your grip better right out of the holster and the straight up draw makes it easier to get the gun on target. Just my theory anyway. Although I feel like the Serpa 3 may be a better draw, the quality of this holster feels great and some of the features are really nice. The hood guard is a great feature and has never gotten in my way like I thought it would. The SLS hood and ALS seem like they'd be nearly impossible for someone to disengage whereas the serpa button like it could be accidentally disengaged by a grabby perp much easier. Overall, out of all of the holsters I have seen, I think this is the most secure you can find. Only disadvantages I have are 1) it does not come with an adjustable paddle, meaning it can't be canted without buying additional paddles. 2) it doesn't seem very easy to use this as a level 1 holster in a high threat time (meaning snap the hood forward if you feel like you may have to draw so you only need to use the ALS button). I say this because the ALS button is a little tricky to find unless you are snapping the hood forwards first. The hood almost guides you right to the ALS button, so trying to go right for the button without the hood up hasn't worked well for me...though I haven't practiced much. However, if you really thought you may have to draw, you'd likely be keeping your hand ON your weapon, in which case releasing the hood and keeping your finger on the ALS button would be very easy and make for a near instant draw. The ALS button is much harder to see/get to for second party than the Serpa's big side button, so if your first level of retention is off and somebody DOES try to take your weapon, I'd feel MUCH safer with the 6360. FYI I think the high rise paddle would make it a bit more comfortable in the car and easier to rest your arm on the gun while standing to secure your weapon, but i'm not sure how it would affect the draw. ... show more
